Introducing myself (cat tax incl)

in introduceyourself •  7 years ago  (edited)

As I'm making my first couple posts here on Steemit, it would be rude not to add one for the #introduceyourself family! Here goes:

My name is Nicolas Mrozowski.
I'm a 29 year old Belgian fellow that enjoys music, traveling and life in general.

Bluntstep has been my "artist name" (fancy!) for about 10 years now, ever since I started deejaying during my days in college. Dubstep was just becoming a thing, and I instantly fell in love with the sounds, deep basslines and energy that came with it. With a little help from friends and social media, I was very blessed to travel to different countries and play out at gigs and festivals that I'll never forget.

I have recently left Belgium to start a new life with my special lady near Seattle, WA.
After years of flying back and forth, we decided enough was enough, and turned our long distance relationship into something real!

Since I'm currently kind of stuck at home, due to the long wait for my work visa and citizenship, I've been spending lots of time on producing my own music. I've been forcing myself to really get to know Ableton Live and I feel like I've been making some great progress. Obviously, I will be sharing all of this on my Steemit-page, so stay tuned!

If you would like a taste of the sounds that I'm pushing, I made a mix to celebrate my first gig in the US not too long ago. (It includes a free download!)

Thanks for reading, as always I appreciate all upvotes, follows and comments!

Hi there!

Hello! Your description is accurate, you are indeed way too nice.

Hey Nicolas, welcome to steemit. I am sure you will have a good time here :)

Thank you sir! Gave you a follow since I noticed you make some amazing photos and I'm a Canon-guy myself ;)

Welcome bluntstep, the more time I spend here the more I think that the overall architecture of this platform is truly amazing.

Thanks! I agree, why didn't I make the switch a long time ago?! All this time I've been sharing content just so some big corporation can make some money off of it.. No more!

Welcome. I pray things turn around for you. Good luck!

Hello! it was interesting to read, good luck!

Welcome to steemit, @bluntstep!

Nice intro, but you won me over with the last picture. Cats are like cheating! :)

My profile is @flashfiction and i would like to present you some links i found really useful when i first signed up here. They will make you start with the right foot on Steemit!

These links will all open on the SAME TAB (Yeah, i know...), so i recommend opening them with "right click->open in a new tab".

Growing FastTopYou HAVE to register here, if you want to build an audience FAST. It's a free service for boosting exposure, upvotes and followers. You just have to click on "login". Have your key at hand (That awfully long number you got when you signed up on Steemit). The tutorials are easy to follow.
All about steem coinsTopThere are three coins of use on Steemit, and understanding them is critical for your success. This is a short explaining video, the very best i've found.
MarkdownTopEven if you can use some basic HTML on your posts, the correct way to format them is NOT HTML. You use a marking ruleset called, yeah, "Markdown". Have this as a complete reference.
PostingMediumThe top activities on this site are posting, upvoting and commenting. This is an excellent tutorial about making your posts look great. Don't miss it!
UpvotingMediumYeah, you tought upvoting was just a matter of machine-gunning your clicks and make easy bucks. Nah. It is actually a little more complicated than that. All you need to know is here.
Better interfaceMediumLet's face it: The interface on Steemit is pretty basic. "Busy" is an alternate interface you can use, more polished and easy to navigate. Both of them can be used simultaneously. Again, you just have to login.
Using BotsMediumThere are a lot of things to learn about this platform, and understanding bots is one of the most important. They are little different services you can access for a fee. I found this tutorial extremely useful.
Trevon JamesMediumI know, i know... there are lots and lots of GREAT steemians here for picking one to recommend, but i just love Trevon's style. He explains EVERYTHING you need to know about Steemit (and crypto) in a funny, accesible way. Check him out.
@flashfictionAWESOMEWell, duh. My voting profile! ;) If you found this useful and you want to do something nice for me, you can vote me here for Witness. A witness is a member of Steemit who helps building a better place for us all. It's just one free click.

Anything i cand help you with, i'm at your service! Oh! If you want to follow me, i'd be honored.

See you around!

Thanks for helping out! Used your steemfollower referral and gave you a follow!
