Hello Steemit. I'm bwar.

I recently stumbled upon this great place and have been biding my time lurking in the shadows trying to learn all I could about Steemit and its community before finally deciding that it was time to introduce myself. When I first got here I never realized how much depth and diversity there would be in the Steemit community and all of the varying ways that people used this platform. I had a preconceived notion that Steemit was a nerdy little blog site that was all about cryptocurrency. I was quite pleasantly surprised when I discovered that Steemit was a whole lot more than that. Creativity, community building, travel, cooking, you name it someone is doing it on Steemit and that is just a beautiful thing. It shows that everyone can carve out their own little niche here, no matter what your passions are in life.

When I first started thinking about what I wanted to showcase on Steemit I found myself in quite the quandry. I was trying to find a little area that I could focus on to help pull people to my posts. Would I write about cryptocurrency and investing? Would I tap into my creative side and explore some areas I've always been too afraid to tackle? I kept trying to find that thing that would keep people coming back. The thought about this over and over unable to grasp a solution. Then it finally dawned on me, whats the one thing no one else can bring to Steemit? The answer was simple, me.

I've been curious about all things cryptocurrency for quite some time but only recently decided to dive into the fray. I decided to build myself a small mining rig and from that have since broadened my crypto horizons which is what brought me here. And I find all of it quite fascinating. Lately I've been spending lots of my free time watching videos, viewing charts and reading about various coins. I've been trying to invest more into cryptocurrency slowly over time and am hoping that eventually it can turn into a hobby that pays me back.

Besides crypto I tend to learn more towards the nerdy side of life enjoying my video games, really looking forward to Destiny 2 when it finally comes out on PC, superhero movies, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 is my favorite, and even have a weekly DnD group that gets together every Monday night. Games have always been a part of my life going all the way back to the Atari and really flourishing when I got my hands on the NES. I dabble a little in board games, my current favorite is Dixit, and a little bit into Trading Card Games, I qualified for the Force of WiIl World Championship this year although I've decided not to attend since it's on the other side of the world.

My interests aren't purely nerdy though. I am a huge hockey and football fan. I follow the Edmonton Oilers religiously and the Oakland raiders slightly less religiously. I grew up playing hockey and it's something thats always been a part of my life. I try to go to as many games as possible each year and rarely miss a game on TV. I don't follow the NFL quite as closely as I do the NHL but I still like to watch the Raiders each Sunday if possible. I've never been to an NFL game but that is something that's always been on my bucket list.

I'm still learning this whole Steemit thing and hope to improve and share with you all more in the future.
