I think I know it because I played Need For Speed II for Windows in 1998, which used goa and psychedelic trance as background music in the game. Or because I used to be a DJ too and started out with trance ;-)

Nowadays it is not indeed. I actually I don't perform any more. I used to spin the turntables with vinyl records (old school) and went from trance, to hardhouse to eventually hardstyle. Still have a weakness for trance and hardhouse though :-)
