# WHERE AM I?

That’s a funny question. Isn’t it?

Well, not to me because i have been waiting for the past three days to get myself on this platform. A friend of mine or should I say an angel informed me about this very website that pays you for uploading your contend. Then I thought in my head; is she kidding? So I decided to see for myself. Alas! Steem is for real. lol #steemisforreal

Who am I?

I am Adeniran Yusuf, a 4th year pharmacy student of Olabisi Onabanjo University. I am a Nigerian from a decent place known as ‘the Yoruba Land’. I am an overzealous poet and a freelance writer. If there was an height requirement to sign up for Steemit, id probably not get in. I have been told I have a cute face so that gives me a point with the ladies. Lol. I am an introvert/extrovert depending in the situation I find myself in. I am a picture freak, a Foodie, a soccer fan and a lover of all kinds of sporting activity. There are a lot of things I love, most of which I can’t remember right now.

What have I been up to?

I am a very busy person due to the nature of my course of study. Practical classes and clinic visits from time to time. But these don’t give me an excuse to let life pass me by. Mostly, what I do at my leisure is write, chat and stream videos online.
Well to be honest, I am currently suffering a break-up which I am handling in the most inappropriate way possible. I stalk my ex on social media, I write letters to her which I end up not sending, I suffer late night melancholia. I still love her, I hope you understand that. I can end up exceeding the character limit if I decide to talk about it now. I promise to write a story & poem about it in my next post. So WATCH OUT!

What do I want from steemit?

This is very tricky question for me but I won’t avoid it.
When I was introduced to this platform, I can’t deny the fact that the monetary reward was the highlight of it all. Then I checked visited the website to feed my curiosity. I was amused when I saw the full list of benefits and value it could add to my writings and to myself as a person.
Like I stated earlier, I am a Nigerian. If only you could imagine what it means to be a Nigerian; a Nigerian youth to be specific, then and then alone would you have an idea of my whole story. The moment you are seen with a laptop, you are stopped and most likely to be harassed by the Police or other Law Enforcement agencies for being a scammer; popularly known as a “Yahoo Boy”. But this is not new to me because the first time I told my mother I was interested in blogging, I anticipated her reaction. Being uneducated, she said to me “Have you being introduced to scamming Oyinbo (Europeans) too?’. She actually reported me to our religious leader and it took a whole lot of effort to successfully convince them both.
So, I find this site as a safe haven and a community to share me thought in contents id be sharing based on reader reviews. I really request little from steem it other than a stable and available page. But I require a lot from the community as a whole because I have the attention span of a Chihuahua, if not less. I am someone who craves a lot of appreciation and go-aheads. Sometimes I post my poems on my Instagram page @_Carleaf and I get lesser comments and likes than the usual, I break down a bit and I might not recover in days.
I guess all I am trying to say is; I want you to upvote, comment and resteem my post. If they are below per, feel free to tell me. I won’t break down, I promise.

What I do for a living?

Nothing!
I am totally dependent on my parents. Though, I get little pays whenever I write freelance.

Where do I see me in 5 years time?

I will be inducted into the Pharmacy profession by next year. I Pray.
In 5 years time, I see myself beyond a ‘counting and dispensing’ Pharmacist, beyond a mediocre professional. I see myself as someone who inspires others. I might eventually return to politics; leading my Fatherland away from decline. Wait! Did I mention the fact that I am very political? Well, I am. In fact I am the current Speaker of the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigerian Students, OOUTH chapter.

I see myself as this goal-driven individual who will take risks and make life-changing choices in life.
