Hey everyone! Super proud to be a part of the Steem community! Let me introduce myself.
My name is Steve and I am a NYC based programmer working for a tech startup. Just like all of you, I feel like there are so many things going on around us and want to stay connected to all things that interest us. That is my primary motivation to join this community; to learn, read and interact with the diversity of brains that are compiled in this digital space.
Firstly, I love sports. LA Lakers and Liverpool FC are my teams! I fell in love with the Mamba Mentality espoused by Mr. Kobe Bryant. I love Stevie G for his loyalty to his boyhood team. Besides these two, I love Tiger Woods. (as a golfer) Watching these athletes drive me to pursue my passion to the best of my abilities everyday. Some people ask themselves what would Jesus do; I ask myself, what would Kobe/Tiger/Stevie G do.
Secondly, I am a huge car junky. I used to work for a car company out in California and love everything about cars. (won't disclose where but there are a surprising number of car companies based in California not named Tesla) Despite the fact I love cars, I absolutely despise the car industry. Why, you ask? Because the auto industry systematically is broken. It churns out sales without regard for consumers and their personal finances. In fact, I hate them so much, the hate inspired me to write a website to help you save money on cars. Y'all can check it out over here: www.driftingvalue.com.
Lastly, before I bored you guys to death. I love data and its applications. dataisbeautiful is my favorite Reddit account and I love how different combinations of data provide different insights for driving actionable items. That's what I do at my current workplace (data science) and I love it. I strongly believe that data will help us as a species achieve the next step in our species' evolution.
