Hey, I'm the new guy. See what you can find!

Hello fellow Steemians!
I'm Nils, aspiring geoscientist with a focus on geobiology and Paleontology. But that's not the matter, who cares about my job? More important is who I am, who I want to be, and what I enjoy doing in my life (my job actually is part of that though :) ).
First things first: I never was a social media guy. I had Facebook going for a long time but never posted much about anything. I don't have twitter, Instagram or any of the other platforms that all seem the same to me. I despite the pseudo intimacy they propagate. The craving for attention that drives people into posting each and every rubbish they experience in life to validate their existence.

Now I've come across Steemit. And for the first time I decided to give a social media platform a try. Who knows, maybe someone is actually interested in the things I do and experience. Maybe It's not work gone to waste sharing what leaves a trace in my mind and my heart. I give this platform a chance because of the way it's constructed. And let's not talk around it, it's because money is in the game. People really give their effort to post and curate quality content here because of it. But the money aspect also goes into the philosophy of the site. Actually rewarding authors for their genuine content and acknowledging poeple's copyrights.

And now enough of the blabbering. You know why you're here and who am I to tell you anyways? Who am I? Good question!

I enjoy making music, as I play guitar and piano. I'm mediocre at both because I'm too lazy to make a habit of practicing. I also enjoy digital drawing with my wacom tablet, which I also am really mediocre at. Check it out on Deviantart if you are brave enough! If you are, you will also notice, that I've got a photography thing going. The pictures in this very blogpost are made using my Nikon D3200 with the 28-55 Kit. So much for my creative hobbies. I also enjoy programming and playing videogames. I do a lot of sports: running, swimming, basketball, cycling and lots of others. Whatever the mood brings.

I recently developed great interest in traveling. Meeting new and authentic people. Seeing the world and living the adventure. The only thing holding me back so far is my own fright. But I try to get out there more. My job helps m with this as I travel to foreign countries in the name of research. Here's a quick shot I took while out in the Alps this summer:

Anyways, i enjoay each of these hobbies in the same way, and while it's a lot to expect and a broad spectrum of interests, that's how it is. For a long time it's been very hard for me to be average at so many things, while not having a real talent for any of the things. But I think I got it going now and I'm thrilled about finding new ways to combine my hobbies. New discoveries I can make when viewing things from different angles. My content will rotate through ll of this topics.
