My First Set of Footprints

Hi everyone! I am Cristine Jane Paquibot, 20 years old, a newbie here on steemit. My friend @hennessyocier encourage me to join here. Since this is my first post, let me tell you something about myself.

We are six in the family. I have three siblings. Two girls and one boy. When I was little I wanted to grow up to be a fairy. I wanted skin that was as smooth and white as milkweed silk and I wanted hair that cascaded halfway down my back in a luxuriant cloud of waves and curls that shine a sunny yellow by day and silver when washed by the light of the moon. Fairies have a magical power and that's the very reason why I wanted to be one. I wanted to help people by this power. I wanted to give everything they are wishing for. I wanted to spread my wings and fly until I reached the Galaxy.

But as I aged, I realized that fairies are not true. People can't have wings, let alone fly. The reality has hit me and I'm awake to see how very wishful my dreams were. The truth is, you don't need to change yourself to fit in the standard set by the cruel society. It will be hard. Most times you will wish you can be someone else but it takes a lot of effort to love yourself when in the first place you hated to be you.

This blog will be like an open book of myself. Here I will share my insecurities, my dreams, my hopes and I'm looking forward to finding people who are on the same boat as me. I will share my life experiences.
