Please.. Stop... Seriously.. Stop.steemCreated with Sketch.

Something has been seriously bothering me lately. People keep commenting on my posts.. Now.. These comments to help with my monetization.. However, if you are going to comment on my posts, please at least try to interact with me some how.

But socializing is scary!! Yes.. I know. The social media fairies will give you social anxiety dusts that make you sneeze fake news and fake comments like "Follow for Follow" or "Impeach for peace".. Social media is supposed to bring us together.. Not turn us into Zombies.

So next time you comment on my posts, please ask a question about my post. Or even an introduction of sorts. I only follow those who attempt to interact with me on a personal level. Or have exceptional/genuine and from the heart content.

when you post something in #introduceyourself you get the welcome bots and those with scripts, pretty simple.

I know about the welcome bots, it would be nice though if when posting outside of #introduceyourself that I would get real people to talk to me though.

I've been seeing that more and more lately. Copy and paste comments or people begging for follows and upvotes. Papa Pepper made a good point that we should be trying to help them understand how to use Steemit but I think they are just taking the easy way out. I think I'm going to just start using the mute button more because it's getting pretty aggravating.

There is a mute button? 😱 This would be nice to know!!
I don't normally post negative content, normally I am very positive. This was just starting to bother me. I came to steemit to have fun, not to be spammed.

I assume that's your daughter. She's super cute! But irrelevant to the aim of your post. And why are you using something like social anxiety in your argument?

If you read the full context I was trying to make people laugh. Not make fun of social anxiety. This was aimed to make introverts laugh when I made that joke. I did not mean to offend anyone.
I only used the picture of my daughter because of the face she was making was the face I was making when I wrote the post haha.

I've only joined for a week (a little bit more than a week), and am overwhelmed already with such comments. I took the time to browse people posts and really read their postings, as I really want to learn more while earning. If i can spare the time, i wonder why cant they (I mean I have two little kids, a homemaker, a business on the side, a huge green house to tend, and social medias to check out and I still appreciate ppl postings. So silly comments baffled me 😂😂)

Cute toddler btw! ❤️

Thank you for complementing my daughter. She has a lot of sass for such a little toddler.

I have followed you btw.
I don't quite understand why people don't have time to be genuine anymore. It saddens me. I have a life too and still have time (because I make time) to respond to genuine comments and get to know people, and even read their blogs too!! I am still new and learning about this site.. But the bots are out of hand!!

Following you back for sure 😊

Yeah, there's tons to learn about and on steemit for sure.

I'm getting addicted to it as I only need to refresh and all sorts of new topics can be read without me going to this site or that site 😁 people post interesting stuffs for sure (apart the annoying ones)

Thank you! Agreed as well. 😊

I just realized I repeated 'for sure' a lot😂😂😂😂

well sadly this platform rewards such a behaviour as you described, for sure not intentionally but there are always ppl who try to find shortcuts, especially when there is somehow the chance to gain money, being it fiat or cryptocoins.
Altogether i can not agree more to what you are saying but most likely this bad behaviour will only get worse ...
well lets see whats coming, thx for your post, made me think twice :)

The best way that I can see (sadly) is to flag people who use bots or spam comments on posts.
I am not one to flag someone, but the behaviour needs to be corrected. The only exceptions to this rule are like @iamgrootbot who do it to make others smile while staying in character.. Most other bots are annoying and need to be treated more seriously. Thank you for reading.

Welcome to Steemit @crowwingk, I have upvoted and sent you a tip. Check my blogs if you are looking for tips on how to earn more Steem and SBD.

The problem is people found a way to use bots for upvoting and commenting. Either that or they are just copy-pasting responses.

Yes. It is a huge problem. I encourage you to report spam when you see it on your own posts.

When you do something good, it will come back to you. That is Good Karma.

The market is a lowly-traded crapcoin, so I made it moon 364.79% with only ~$200! That got me about 0.02% of the entire supply. The better price at the moment could've actually been 10x lesser than what I paid for, but I just snagged whatever's on the sell book. Note there isn't any ICOs involved in this, and the token is non-inflationary, capped at 888 million GOODs. All said, I might just be wasting some dough on this, but I must admit that I like the package a little too much. Plus, the seemingly experienced founder (Kosmost) claimed to have been the inventor of the ICOs that we know of today, providing the following responses in his FAQ:-

You didn't invent the ICO. Come on!
Somebody did. And it just so happens it was me. I conceived of it in March 2014 for the old Karmacoin (through a new entity called Karmashares) and we launched on April 18, 2014.

Although MaidSafe and Mastercoin both held 'crowdsales' before then, they were not ICOs. Crowdfunding is merely a method of fundraising, whereas an ICO raises coins for both capital and as a representation of ownership interest in an enterprise, like a digital stock certificate. We referred to the new model as POC (proof-of-coin, to secure the coin's economy) and IPOCOs (Initial Public Offerings for COins, for subsidiaries or derivatives). In fact, we even had digital certificates: https://goo.gl/XJ9yVh to go along with our list of owners http://web.archive.org/web/20140626124054/http://karmashares.com:80/explorer-v01 as well as bonus periods for earlybirds. We also reached out to other coins like ReddCoin and the broader cryptocurrency community to consider the same kind of model.

I have been, however, trying to get people to consider the difference between the two terms: https://www.reddit.com/r/ethtrader/comments/6lbo1v/as_the_guy_who_invented_the_first_true_ico_i

So why isn't this an ICO?
You'll notice that most legitimate ICOs today do not allow anyone that lives or resides in the US to join in the distribution. What's not being considered is that the people running the ICO should not be US residents or citizens, either. It is likely to constitute an “investment contract” by the SEC per the US Securities Act of 1933 as thus fall into the domain of an unregistered security. It is the reason I shut down Karmashares.

Until the SEC changes their guidance on securities and equity derivatives in favor of ICOs, I won't even think about it (and advise others residing in the US or who are US citizens not to, either).

Hi @crowwingk welcome to Steemit, have a nice time ahead.
