An Introduction to Me

So, I thought it was about time I wrote one of these introduction posts. I thought I should showcase my skills as a writer before doing this introduction, so if you already have not, please check out my work and let me know if I deserve to call myself a “writer”. I feel it is important for any writer on here to show substance, I believe that anybody who has read my work will agree that I go the extra mile when researching and compiling articles for this amazing community. My critics will say my articles are too long, my supporters love how in-depth I go, so I would say the one lesson I have learned as a “writer” is that I cannot please everybody; I am sure most of my peers here will agree with me. So in the interest of this post, I will keep this introduction short.

So, to begin, my username here is Cryptoguru1 (Obviously). I am somebody who likes to keep my identity anonymous, as I really don’t want fame or prestige. I am more than happy for any credit to go to my pseudonym. I hope this does not discourage people from reading my work. I feel that if I write like this, then I can really get the message across what I am writing about. For those of you unfamiliar with my work, I write about new and upcoming technology, blockchain being the latest innovation which has encapsulated me. I tried writing on other blogs/platforms before settling on Steemit, and now feel at home here, I love the community here.

For those of you, who may be reading this and don’t know what “blockchain “is, then I provide this simple overview taken from Forbes. “Blockchain is a digitized, distributed and secure ledger that guarantees immutable transactions and solves the trust problem when two parties exchange value” (Forbes.com, 2018).

I am not going into any more technical detail here, as this is not what this post is about, but I will say this, I believe this technology is going to revolutionise the world. As we have advanced through the computer age, we find ourselves at the next frontier; I believe blockchain is this frontier. This “cryptocurrency” or “blockchain” space is often referred to as the wild west, and rightly so, we are at the very early stages of this revolution, one which can make investors very rich, or very poor if they get it wrong. If one would have invested in Bitcoin back in 2009, and held onto their investment until now (or even better at the peak in January 2018), they would be extremely wealthy. Today this space is becoming very saturated with new “blockchain projects”, which aim to make use of the “ICO phenomenon”, which has allowed projects to easily raise capital for development. This is where the “wild west” culture has come from. I see now that we may be on the cusp of a transition to the masses, the stage where blockchain is proving its worth to the world. Despite the fact we are in a bear market, I feel this transition is occurring.

This blockchain space is considered young, and thus, is very speculative in nature. This is where I come in; you can consider me one of these “wild west investors” or a “Guru” in the space. I spend hours every day researching so I can get an early seat at the table with up and coming and promising blockchain projects. As I just mentioned, this space is full of new projects and so the problem becomes sorting the “crap” from the “truly revolutionary”. I am a big believer that most (upwards of 90%) of these projects are going to fail in the medium to long-term, so I pride myself in trying to find that 10% which will exceed and push the blockchain boundaries to untold heights.

Saying all of this, my mission here is not to provide financial advice in any way or form. If you follow anybody (including me) and let them influence you in any financial investment then you should not take part in this space; you need to be prepared do research yourself alongside this advice. I fell prey of this in my early years in this space and got burnt on many occasions. I believe people have the right to read in-depth summaries/reviews of new projects without falling prey to what we call “Fear of missing out” (FOMO). This is a natural human emotion when we see market caps of projects rising, we want our piece.

What I aim to be, is an “element” of your own research, I will pick the projects I believe will succeed, and then summarise/review them. I do this by reading whitepapers and project-specific information; you will also find all my work is referenced throughout, with references and additional reading provided at the end of my work. In this way, I can cut the time it takes you to do your initial research on projects, once reading my work you will have in-depth knowledge of a project. I then urge my readers to continue on their own research so they can come to a conclusion on their own.

I truly believe blockchain will be the future. I provide my work, not for any sort of praise (although it is nice to hear in the comments), but to give something back to this community. My methods for my own research involve compiling notes of research, so it has become easy to convert them into articles for sharing with the world.
