Dan Talks Movies - I'm Trying Out DTube

Greetings fellow Steemians!

My name is Dan, and I run the YouTube channel 'Dan Talks Movies'.

I've been working on the channel since August, and I absolutely love what I do. It's a great way to discuss my thoughts with the rest of the world and I love that the internet has given me so many platforms to do just that. The sad thing is that YouTube is such a monumentally large and polluted platform that it's incredibly hard to get noticed...

I don't plan on leaving YouTube. Despite its flaws, I actually really like using the site, and I have a handful of subscribers and views that I want to hold on to and continue to grow. That being said, I'm not going to turn away from other platforms either. A number of people I follow have been trying out Steemit and DTube and it all looks very interesting. I'm not 100% sure if it's for me or even how it all works, but there is certainly no harm in giving it a go and seeing if I can expand my audience outside of YouTube, which is really all I hope to achieve with it.

(A little bit about me: I'm a former film student who grew up with a love and passion for the art form, and I have spent my life studying and exploring it. I want nothing more than to be able to share my thoughts on my passion with the rest of the world, and I hope that Steemit/DTube can expand my ability to do just that.)

I'm in the process of setting up my DTube channel at the moment. I'm finding it all a little confusing, but once I've sorted it all out I will begin posting straight away. I intend to upload every video that is currently on YouTube over to DTube as well, and then continue posting all new videos from that point on.

Another bonus with Steemit is that it gives me the chance to expand my content into blogging. I've wanted to do this for a while, so I'm going to start. Not only will I upload all my videos to DTube as well as YouTube from now on, but I will also write occasional blog posts on this site in which I discuss various film relating topics or news stories, and maybe the occasional review.
