Blockchain is changing the world as we know it. One day in the near future, everything we do will be Blockchain base. Imagine a world where we will be having all our records on the Blockchain like criminal records, medical, birth certificates. Even your driver's license info. We will soon move from the money aspect of Blockchain tech to every day life occurrence. In the name of transparency.

Everybody and everything will be on a fair and even playing field. Imagine waking up and your bank account was wiped out over night or someone used your social security to take a loan out leaving you with the bill. Blockchain can and will solve these issues. Info on the Blockchain can be seen by anyone anywhere you will be able to track every movement of every transactions, openly and free. Security and transparency are just some things Blockchain offers now.

How did I get into crypto?

I been involved with cryptocurrencies since about 2011, 2012. I was working for this inventory company at the time call RGIS. I’m sure if you work in retail you heard about them as they are the biggest inventory company worldwide. Wasn’t a bad gig at all. I was what they called an inventory auditor. I would go into these major retailers like Macy’s, best buy, stop and shops you know publicly traded companies for the most part and you would simply count their merchandise on the shelves and backrooms. At the end of the process they would know how much product of value was in that particular store. So as I worked there throughout the months, I started to ask myself, well why would somebody pay for a service like this? Couldn’t you simply just go on a computer in the back room and see what you are selling and what’s left inside the store? As I began my search for answers, little did I know I was actually taking my first steps on my crypto journey.

To dumb it down without getting too technical, Every major retailer store across the globe needs to have something on paper to say how much they are worth for tax purposes, investors, And other regulatory reason. I’ll use sears as an true example. The company I worked for, RGIS, would go to sears about once a year. Normally during the summer months. We would count 100s or sears across the United states and every year the final numbers kept coming back lower and lower. I saw the value of the company dropping before my eyes, before the mass public had any clue.
I happen to turn on the CNBC one day and the first report I saw was sears set to close up stores, stock plummets . At the moment I put 2 and 2 together and realize the company I worked for was partly responsible for the price of the stock and the way it moved next. Weather it be up or down. So I immediately looked into investing in stocks. This was sorta like insider trading in ways. I used my job to help me decide what company's to invest in. Unfortunately because my job mostly inventoried big box retailers I lost a lot of money. Mostly due to the fact I was a new investor and I really didn’t know what I was doing. On top of that just because that one particular Store had a bad audit, didn’t necessarily mean the company as a whole was doing bad either. So needless to say I missed out on big gains too. Most retail stocks have been bad the last few years.
I was using the robinhood app for my daily trading activity. At that time robinhood was real basic but still free, mostly. There was not many good retail stocks to choose from. I had a feeling toys r us was gonna close soon. Their inventory audit followed the same way as sears did. Lower n lower every year. Just a side note I think toys r us would still be around if they expanded the brand outside toys. Maybe like an themed amusement park or afterschool center for kids I got some ideas that I’ll probably touch on in another article for another time.

Around when all of this is happening, I remember flipping through the channels and I don’t remember what channel it was on but there was a documentary about silk road and how you can buy all these black market items like drugs and hitmen on the dark web. But you can only buy these items with bitcoin. Now I’m in to computer tech shit like that and growing up in less desirable neighborhoods where illegal drugs and crime is everywhere, this silk road documentary caught my attention and I proceeded to watch. Instantly I was hyped about silk road. I could buy some of the most exotic types of marijuana 24 hours a day n have it delivered.
Disclaimer yes I smoke weed and I am pro thc.
Back to the silk road, yeah I was overjoyed that I could by weed on the web.
But there was two problems 1. By the end of the documentary I learned silk road was shut down and if I wanted to buy weed on the web, just incase my guy up the block ran out, I would have to look harder for another silk road website. Which i never bother to look and 2 I didn’t know where to get bitcoin. At that time I think it was around 2012 or 13 it wasn’t as easy to get as it is now. Today u got Btm’s now where you just insert cash n boom you got bitcoin. So at that point I said ehhhh not for me. I continued to walk around the corner and buy marijuana the traditional way.

I came into work one day its just me and another coworker. We are some dark backroom of some store counting socks and tee shirts. I happen to glance over at a desk and there was this magazine. On the cover there was the symbol for bitcoin. I picked it up and asked my co worker if he ever heard about the website silk road. at that time I closely related bitcoin and the bitcoin symbol with silk road. To my surprise my coworker said he has and proceeded to tell me the same things I already learned from the documentary. Then I asked him where do you get bitcoin. He told me he mines them. Not having any clue what he was talking about he invited me to his house to see what he was talking about.

I never made it. He comes in one day and tells me that he shut down the mining operation because his electricity bill was sky high. Now at that point I’m completely turned off of bitcoin and just continued trading penny stocks on robinhood. Which wasn’t too bad I definitely lost more money then I made but whatever it was a learning experience.

Fast forward to 2017 I go into the bathroom one evening. I’m sitting on the toilet and I come across an advertisement for cobinhood. I said oh somebody trying to bootleg robinhood. I clicked the ad and to my surprise it was a robinhood type platform for cryptocurrency. I don’t think it was 100% live at the time, I think they was just doing beta. But I see bitcoin and I’m like ok this how u buy bitcoin. I thought like most people bitcoin was stock. Which we all know today it is not. I remember what my coworker told me in the back room a couple years back the price of bitcoin was around $100 dollars a coin or something like that. now the price is something like 6 or 7k. Wow I thought. I never seen that kind of gain on robinhood. But because I could not afford a whole bitcoin at a 7k price I thought I can never get into bitcoin. I was wrong.

I reached out to my co worker which I haven’t heard from in years just to see was he still dealing with bitcoin and not to my surprise he said yeah. I asked was he still mining he said no. He said he buys bitcoin from a website called coinbase . I said you can afford to buy a whole bitcoin? he said yeah but if you don’t have the whole amount u can buy a fraction if it. I was game in at that point.

As you can tell, I been in crypto for really less then a year. I’m no expert on any of things that’s goes on with the technology. But I do know how to come up with a sound prove able conclusion. I’m not here to predict what a certain price of a coin will or will not be. I’ll leave that for the youtubers.
No I’m not financial advisor. This blog isn’t here to get you to buy a certain coin or tell you how to trade crypto. This is the place where you come and read to get info and ideas to help you make your next move. somethings I will discussed worked for me it may not work for you. And vice versa. My road to the moon will be different from your road but u know what the destination is the same. I just see things alil differently then most. And I’m here to share my thoughts about it
