Steemit is a place that is unlike anything else. I believe this is effectively the beginning a Web3.0 data layer that will replace the broken Web2.0 system of social media giants and bandtwith dethers prioritizing corporate fast lanes-- if we choose to develop it that way.

Let me explain. We have several layers of internet protocols, and they stack. Every time we get a new protocol, it generally fits over all the previous layers. When I was in middle school I taught myself HTML on the library computers after school. I began using ShockWave Flash3 in Grade 8 and I was building animations, trying to upload video. It was terribly slow, but a few years later High Speed Internet was able to facilitate the launch of YouTube.

I was in College at the time taking Technical Theatre Studies, and was intending to take Motion Picture Arts. In 2005 YouTube launched and April 7th 2006 I signed up for a Directors account on youtube. I began creating as much content as possible, with the limited resources I had. Setting out with a mission to feature the best music in my local scene, and began to meet business owners and artists. I recall a great show that I directed in High School was never recorded, and I still lament about it. My desire is to create incredible seasonal productions, and to record them all! So much great talent goes unnoticed, and great songs disappear with time. I hope to be able to find the best ideas and the best talent.

Steemit is another evolution in the internet, and if you choose to use it this way, it can be absolutely transformative. I am now actively reaching out to friends and locals about Steemit, and letting them know they will need their Steemit key to login to MyDarkflameNet this year. They will need their Steemit key to login to dTube and dSound and dLive, and all the amazing new websites launching on the Steemit Blockchain. In 2016 everyone underestimated Steem Dollars. They said they were worthless and couldn't be worth more than $1. Lies that Steemit is a scam and Steem just loses value. I even fell for that for a while, which is probably why I kept underestimating it for so long. But this year no more.

Going into 2018 the SteemDollar and STEEM are both worth more than the Loonie. That is very concerning to me in one way, and we need to consider the year ahead. People will either watch what happens, wonder what happened, or they will be the one making things happen. I look out into the Steemiverse and I see incredible projects; building parks, minting silver, creating affordable loans, doing things that will change the world!

So let us not get caught up in Profit motive; This is not just about getting rich. This is about the philosophy of freedom of knowledge. What are you learning?
