Hello from Fargo, No we don't actually talk like that. And now all you can hear is Frances McDormands voice. Right? Well I was born in Minneapolis MN and have ended up only four hours away from the place i still call home. I am an artist, writer, Book fanatic, Horror and Halloween loving, mother and wife just trying to stay sane in a crazy world.
I love to talk to people and share my thoughts and passions. There are too many things I am in love with to list here. Like my musical taste which is flung far and wide. I love music and writing and drinking coffee or wine if i have a day off coming up. I also love food. Talking about it, watching it on TV, Did I mention i love TV and social media and movies of all kinds, although I am more inclined to love anything spooky or ghost related. I am a self described colorful girl looking for a soft place to land. And i look forward to getting to know you all and sharing my quirks and wild ideas. Let this be a warring to you. It's going to be a bumpy ride! But I promise you we will have the time of our lives.

Hello darkjade! Welcome to Steemit! Hope you'll like the community here. As a start, here are 5 tips that we believe will be helpful to you:

Keep your passwords safe: Unlike conventional sites, Steemit has 4 types of passwords. Each offers varying degrees of access to your account, so know where and when to use each of them. Also, make sure to keep them all safe and secure.
Get Steem rewards: When writing a post, you'll have the option to choose how to receive your reward: "Default 50%/50%" or "Power Up 100%". As of this moment, choosing Default 50%/50% is the better option. But this can change over time. Check our post to know more.
Upvote wisely: When upvoting, wait at least 30 minutes after the post is published to maximize your curation reward. Also, make sure not to upvote too much too fast so as not to drain your voting power.
Know your Steem, Steem Dollars and Steem Power: Steem and Steem Dollars are the 2 main currencies here. Convert and power up more Steem into Steem Power so you can have higher values on your upvotes.

Lol, @postoffice, you might get a lot of that. I apologize for all of the steemers here trying to create a community and platform for the future. Your artist, writer, horror etc tags are great. I share a lot of the same interests but I'm a bit more sci-fi and fantasy.

I don't know what you really plan on doing here but I encourage you to be open about who you are, what you care for, and what you would like to become(if you aren't already there!).

As a nudge there are some great contests that can be found just by searching contest in the top right field by your picture. They can be an easy way to get a feel of the platform and maybe even earn your first Steem!

Another recomendation would be to checkout some legit writing contests in the sci-fi, spec-fic, etc world. I have entered a few and already feel more accomplished for it!

Check out @mctiller, @calluna, @bananafish and @tygertyger if this writing is something you would like to pursue. Weekly Contests!

And I can't go without mentioning @vdux. he runs a Haiku contest. 17 syllables. Do it!

Trying to be sane in this crazy world is really-really challenging.. Im sure you have so much story to tell. With your Artist, Horror and Halloween focuses, Im sure your loveable character are stronger than anybody else as Im sure you do understand Psychology.... welcome!! Im new to steemit too!!
