A Brief Introduction to Myself

Hi Folks,

I signed up for Steemit a while ago but finally getting around to exploring it with a few days off for the holidays. Figured I would take a few moments to introduce myself.

I'm an IT geek. I'm currently IT Director for Liquid Church, a multi-campus church in northern NJ with six physical campuses and one online.

Most of my official positions in IT have been on the systems/network architecture/administration side, but I've also taken whatever opportunity I've had to create various software/web applications.

I enjoy reading widely and am especially interested in history, psychology, technology, philosophy, and religion. I'm particularly fond of reading some of the older works and editing/updating them to use contemporary language and provide explanatory footnotes to help explain foreign concepts, terms, and literary allusions. I've published several on Amazon and have another dozen or so in the works.

When it comes to cryptocurrencies, I have a little bit in several currencies - most of which aren't worth much. :) I started mining Bitcoin back in the day and unfortunately stopped almost immediately. Could kick myself! :-P

On the unusual side - I worked a summer during college as a commercial set-net fisherman in Alaska - it was as fun and intense as it sounds.
