My name is David, and I'm a full time CTO/digital nomad. I travel the world, working from different places, while managing the development and product of a company called ScholarshipOwl.

Our company is built in a model called "Remote-First", which means that all our employees are working remotely, and the basic assumption in the company is that everybody is remote.

Remote first

Thankfully, the internet has created so many different communication channels, that communications is no longer a problem. We're using Slack, Zoom, Meet, and a bunch of other tools to keep in touch. The harder thing - is how do you maintain the work progress, how do you make sure people are efficient, and people know how to talk with each behind the camera. About some of the techniques and process we're using I'm gonna be talking on this blog. As well as how to create an efficient work process. But first - OwlSummits! Our little get-togethers we do every year in a different place on Earth. Here's a picture from our latest one from Latvia:

Digital Nomad

A large part of my time, I travel, in sort of a "workaction". Why wait until you're old to travel, when your work allows you to do that today? I try to stay at a place for at least a month, because travel by itself is a complicated and can be stressful.

What's the point of travelling if you're working?

The point is that every day, at the end of the day, I get to see and explore a new city,

a new country,

a new sea,

a new mountain

... I get to meet new people, and I get to choose the weather, place and food I want to enjoy.

So what's this blog about?

So this blog is gonna be dedicated in part to my travels, in part to my projects, in part to my experience as a manager and an entrepreneur. Thank you for having me, here, on Steemit!
