How I join liberal group in school

Liberal today, tomorrow and forever

I remember how I came to know about Liberal movement. I was a class representative in 1200LT and I mediated in a little fight between a lady and a guy. The lady slapped the guy over a reserved seat. Unknowing to me, the girl was a girl friend to a Lord of the snakes(as they are fondly called)
I intervened and then became a subject of discuss when the union bus was brought to 1200. ID Aluta has crossed to join the vagabonds( he was a liberalist then) it took his intervention as a Liberal Member and a brother turned friend ( Honorable jaidon from mathematics) to withstand the injustice that the house of Lord wanted to mete out on me in 1200lt.

Later, I met Lhml Ola maths, Mandela from management(in company of Ay BIM) and others who preached the Liberal good news to me. I did not give it a thought but I kept attending the congress then. My journey into Liberal was however stamped at the instance of two respected people. One an Nlvite at the time and his friend a Liberalist (Lhmls kolo and Afobaje) were instrumental in my decisions. They both represent a mirror of two choices I needed to make. I knew I will be contesting an election in 200l and I needed to sharpen my public speaking skills,writing skills and inter human relations, both of these two could speak well( i later found out Liberal is known for intellectual discourse and analysis) but I noticed a certain Danfodio could speak well too (always talking to me about the NLV as a place for someone like me) and so I was desirous of improving myself and I got close to the two brothers...kolo and Afobaje. Their closeness, despite their different organizational stands inspired me and my brother ( A.Y dot) who since his predegree days had been hypnotized by the NLV giant BJ of physics and Alliance with a strict promise of establishing him in the department that has since been their stronghold.
Though I will always accompany Lhml Afobaje on his campaign trips, I was getting prepared to replace him as P.R.O if he emerges. The mago mago by the NLV led electoral council denied him but I was denied by a mixture of interest and sacrifice for an organization I now swore to belong to. My journey into Liberal has been that of service and selflessness as portrayed by many leaders in the movt.

The stories of Speaker Aboo, president Ambassador and other vibrant, cerebral, visionary and dedicated liberal office holders as often shared by Liberal chancellors gave me a view of the kind of unionism I want to lead if given the chance to paddle Lautech affairs or the movement.
Today, I am a better me, a happier me and I am also hopeful of a better society placed on the tenets of love, equality, fairness and diligence as taught in our school of thought.

Some people joined Liberal based on the need to win an election or the need to belong to a political group that has influence on campus but today, they have turned out to be one of the most trusted and dependable Liberalists we have. It is not in how you came in but what you grow into.

The glory however will not be sustained if we don't all revive the Liberal spirit that brought us the many victories and accolades from Lautech students. I want to see a movement that has merged its past, present and future together with a view to creating a platform for all young adults to learn the tenets of service to the society. I seek a movement that is focused on building bridges across the length and breadth of Africa and allowing visionary, cerebral and creative youths chart a cause for prosperity, progress and peace.

I did not meet the founding fathers of Liberal movement one on one while on campus, Life is transient but their impact left a print for us to follow. From 2000 through 2018, great people have transverse the space of Liberal and it will be a glorious sight gathering together and discussing the future and past of the movement.

Oh how glorious 31st day of March will be when people like Speaker Jerry, Aboo, Ambassador, Ebiede, Seyi justice, Bollykay,Arewa and a host of other heroes and heroines of the movement will be reunited and will meet the very new Liberals that are now making us proud. When the new breed from Ag nature, Ag sage, speaker inspiration, Sir Natty G, Sir Lekzy, Arexzie, Sketo, Diagonal, and even our soon to be Lhmls like Scoffied, Transparency, Mz Cathryn, Mr planet and others alike will share a communion with founding members in the spirit of JET

Just imagine and picture how beautiful and appealing the sight will be when we chant the liberal Anthem;
I love you, you love me
We are one big family
With justice, equity and transparency
Won't you say you love me too...
31st march is the day. I am looking up to seeing all our wonderful faces there.
