But, when I first joined steemIt, I was warmly welcomed by some very positive and influential individuals in my life.
BottyMcBotFace I am talking about you. :-)
And, while I have thoroughly enjoyed our subsequent beep bop I'm a bot conversations, I can't help but wonder why the crew of automated introduction bots aren't equipped, along with their initial introductory message, with a couple links to some useful guides to help new people get started on the platform.
If you are a coding genius, or, have a Github account and the ability to install one of these things, I am sure a number of people would benefit greatly from this, I know I would have.

Great idea. However, I don't know how some people will feel being welcome by a bot. I think it is still an idea that needs to be explored and data can be gotten after a period of time to analyze its usefulness and the impact on the community growth.

Currently, we are being welcomed by a few bots in any case, and I can give testiment to the true legendary nature of BottyMcBotFace. :-)
I feel that if we could get a community-driven list of say 5 of the best guides here to get people started, I am sure it will help speed up the learning curve.

This is an awesome idea.
