Hello Steemers

For weeks now articles found through google searching have led me here, where I've found numerous other articles on less-known altcoins that I've invested in or interest me, not to mention Steem's presence on CoinMarketCap approaching the top 20.

And what better time to get involved with Steemit than the present, as the price of Steem drops near to previous support levels around $1 while Steem Dollars reaches a new low since September 15th of $0.87. A good time to invest too!

For anyone else out there debating Steem, now is the time to get involved. It's only going to rise from here on in, as a currency, social media platform and exchange market. It's potential is one to look out for and I look forward to being a part of it.

Indeed a great value and perfect time to get started. I just reached 300 followers in my first month on the platform and invested into steem power to give me a bigger vote and the rewards of going to the wallet multiple times a day to flame rewards. It is by far the most rewarding platform I have ever seen both in the interesting people and connections made as well as building a future. Welcome welcome welcome. Have fun. I am glad you made it let the ride begin and hodl on for dear life.

Great thanks, have done! Thanks for the official welcome :)

Don't forget to read up on "keys" & "passwords".
Basically don't log in with your "master key"
Use your posting key.

Thanks for the info, had no idea there were different types of keys!
Have just backed them all up and moving onto using posting key :)
Is there not an authenticator 2FA option though? Seems strange...

Basic idea is don't log in with your "master key"
Use your private posting key which does NOT leave your browser if I'm reading correctly. (I think they hash it in the cookie file????)

TL,DR: You should have ALREADY saved your PASSWORD that was used to generate your keys
Next go to Profile >Wallet > Permissions and copy paste all FIVE keys to a safe place.
(eg a text file on a memory stick)
The “OWNER” key is the ‘master key’, keep it VERY safe
Daily logins for posting should use your Private POSTING key.
Once you have copies saved, log out and log back in with USERNAME & your POSTING key
Hope that helps some.

Wasn't steemit suppose to be somehow synchronised with the prices of dollar? Thanks for sharing, will do more research.@darius1993

Nice to meet you too. Welcome to steemit

Hi DragonOnCrypto, nice to know how you chanced upon here.

It should mention that, even while the prices of Steem has been declining (or stable) it was not necessarily a bad investment during that time. If you have your money in Steem Power, you're collecting a lot of interest that makes the investment more worth it. Steem is a kinda inflationary currency at the moment due to its witness rewards, posting rewards, and steem power rewards. So even if the prices are just holding where they are, the overall value of the network is actually increasing. Hope that makes sense :) I have an older account with some steem power and to my surprise, its estimated value is now higher than it was during last year's price pump.
