A first step at connecting imaginations through words (an introductory post)

Dear Writer of lines,

We are from today redefining steemit through the power in our words. Read on.

Narrating experiences, inspirations, insights and anything conceivable through poems is no new way of influencing that part of life in a way that one's mind has formed it. In fact we have more poets and writers of poetic lines than we have writers of other genres of literature.

Poems are like a way of letting out a gust of imagination towards description or narration. It is giving normal and general things another form of viewership; expressing through the use of words anything that can be felt, anything otherwise incommunicable- love, pain, desolation, anger, loneliness. Anything that can be felt.

It can however be berating that a form of this such cannot carry enough power on its own to save even its own creator. Given that no good line can be written except the writer can entrance himself inside the emotions and messages he tries to convey, it could be said then that a writer of poems is not the owner of his work and words but is owned by them. And thus, the need for more strength in pen, muscle and recognition is just so the writer should not be over-ridden by his own creation. Just one line of words can sink even its own creator if it doesn't skip being shared towards mere publicity but is co-created and pushed towards the purpose for which it was created.

Rabearivelo Jean-Joseph knew Africa so well that he described the most simplest of her elements such as the Cactus and the Pomegranate so intricately even while using the language of his colonisers. Rabearivelo, however, sought emphatically for freedom from the very continent he wrote so well about, not for a land of sun and beaches but for the land of those who have held his dear part of Africa (Madagascar) captive. He sought for a chance to show his words of an ever persuasive force to the people that would feel touched and battered by their conscience through every line he conveyed, and he thought those people dwelled in France, land of his oppressors, a place outside the center of his words formation. However, the chances to migrate kept slipping out of his grabs until he felt imprisoned by his own words and killed himself at age 36.

True poetry does not convey words for only one pen, eyes, mind, and ears. So that through multi-authorship, enough minds can bear the burden of their written lines.

Eightlines has an objective of bringing together creativity into poetry and introducing a good number of writers around the world into one piece of write up, as well as those spectators who appreciate the life in words.
You would discover along this line that one word from another mind and perspective can spark up a single piece of poetry such that it not only surrounds the intentions and imaginations of just one single writer, but those of multiple writers from various spheres and hence conveys the effect of its influence to multiple parts and lives in the world.

The eight line basic system is quite simple and interesting. And it is quite different from all other regular posts centered around poetry and written words. In fact, it is a one stop hub for all other writers who truly want to convey their imaginations through words. There will be tweaks and turns all through out this journey as well as major and frequent turns as to how each post is presented and each request for inputs is made. At the end, we only seek to keep poetry and any line of words sort out from deep rooted sources of literature in the minds of anyone that can fall into the entrancement of whatever he sees and thinks. It would be interesting, interactive, effective and most importantly a means of connecting all our minds as one.

The simple process is written below.

Eigthlines will through each post produce a short narration that bears a lot of adjectives and descriptive phrases in order to paint a vague and artistic scenario in the mind of a reader.
After each narration, would come the first eight lines of a piece of poetry that depicts the previous write up.

Interested participants can through the comment section produce a line from their own field of imagination that they feel qualifies as the next line of the poem. Six (6) extra lines will be produced through contributions by the participants in the comments area. One line will be created by the generated comments everyday for six days until the poem reaches its required 14 lines. We are creating a form of steem sonnet where no rules apply.

Inputs will be judged based on their correlation with previous line, how much they depict the narrative and how many upvotes the comment carries.
Each line will be adequately credited in relation to its creator through all the means possible.
