I am counting each day passed, Imagining things on what will it be when the day comes. Having excitement that I never felt before. It's waiting for someone who very special and dear to me whom I have never seen before - it will be our first encounter... The clock is ticking and a melodic cry broke the silence of the day, it was 10:55 am of 11th of January 2017.

The waiting is over! and since then my life was totally changed, I am a Dad now! I have mixed emotions when I first saw my precious daughter wrapped in a white cloth. It's still fresh in my memory her first soft cry while trying to open her eyes maybe to figure out where is she now. The feeling of being "from the womb to the world" made her uneasy and started to cry.

Being a Dad is an exciting, yet challenging experience. They say "Goodbye to your social life" or "Get plenty of sleep now because soon you will be wishing you could." As if it's possible to stockpile sleep for later use. There is some truth in their advice, but there's also a bright side to the social and psychological changes you go through after becoming a dad. There is something a new dad can't resist - to change his lifestyle to fit the needs of his newborn baby. And there a new path to walk through with challenges and sacrifices on its way ahead.

Below were some of the things that I encounter of being a new dad:

1. Sleepless Night - I found myself making the night a day, It's like having hourly alarm clock since my baby nourished through breastfeeding. Every time she felt hungry, she calls our attention by crying.
   

2. Redeemer - When my baby got sick, how I wish I can transfer the virus from my baby to me. I realize that it is more painful to see my baby got sick rather than to have that virus in me. The fatherly love becomes more evident in times like this. You will possess extra care and love for the baby.
   

3. Free Time - I felt guilty leaving my wife and my baby at home when I'm going to work. It's hard to care for the baby alone (esp. if she does breastfeeding) - taking bath, changing a diaper, cleaning the house. So when I have free time, I spend it with my family and set aside my friends and hobbies. I always have this excited feeling to go home after work to see my baby and play with her.
   

4. Responsibility - There is no practice or apprenticeship on a way of being a dad. I sometimes felt that I am not qualified for the job of fatherhood, but when I realized that the baby is entrusted to us by HIM, it gives me the courage to pursue to be the best Dad for my baby. I am now more responsible in a way that I have never been before.
   

5. Vision & Goal - During pregnancy, I already have plans to my baby on what she will be or how are we going to mold her to be a better person. I do also some savings for my baby's future.
   

My dear friends, I am asking your best advice on how to nurture a baby to grow a better person and become an asset to our society. Your help and suggestions will be greatly appreciated and be my extra guidelines for molding my baby into a better person someday.

Life is really amazing! It is a gift for us to exist in this world. Just imagine, you are chosen among those millions of sperm competes to break the egg! We will leave in this world once, let us take this opportunity to do good to everybody and we will reap the reward sooner or later.... but one thing is sure, that time will surely come.
