Hello Steemians! Warmest regards from a singer/songwriter in Cleveland, OH. My name's Emily and I'm new to the community. My hope is to share my music and things I've learned over my years as a writer, performer, and recording artist.
Music is my passion and craft. I started playing and writing at 11 and 12 and it naturally morphed into the center of my life. Northern Ohio has a very welcoming scene with many great artists, and I'm grateful to be from here. Shout out to my friend @TonyPapa for inviting me to check out this site. He's a really talented guitarist and writer, so take a look at his posts if you have a second.
What I post here will be unique and often exclusive content that I won't post anywhere else. I'm excited to share some insight on songwriting, creative expression, vocal techniques, and anything else I can offer up. For those of who know my music and have been following me for a bit, this channel will be a cool opportunity for us to get to know each other better! Please don't this as an attack - there are those who will not miss a chance to pounce on someone posting something similar.
My point is, this platform will retain and record everything that you and I have posted and will not and cannot be deleted. So, why I am pointing them out is to give you a chance to explain - that's all. This being said, others will have no reason to criticize or attack - as I did not and do not intend to harm you.
I have just recently witnessed someone - @sweetsssj - attacked with allegations just on suspicion of impropriety and possibly because of her success - her past came back to haunt her even thought she had done nothing wrong - IMHO.

I am here last week - today is day 9 - and I worked very hard to get my reputation score up but I am still only 41 vs. your 46. I know that with hard work and contribution to good content here, I will catch up. never the less, be mindful that jealousy is one of the most powerful motivation - forces. Here is a quick crash course I have jotted down for you!
It's got a steep learning curve, but it's worth it in the long run if you keep putting in the time! Just know that it will take quite a while before you start getting attention and followers. The biggest secret to success? Keep posting high quality content regularly, and make sure to search out other people's posts, read them, and give relevant comments.
Tagging is extremely important. Always make sure to use all five possible tags, and to keep them relevant. You can always just tag something "blog" or "photography" or something else really general (so long as it's still relevant) to fill the quota if you need to- most of your tags should be established ones, though one or two less used ones are fine.
Posting more than four times a day can reduce your potential rewards, as well as turning off potential users. (I aim for one post per day most of the time.) Consistency is important, though, so you should try to post often.
Always make sure to attach a photo to your posts! You should also have a finished profile: Write a description, add a profile picture and a banner- neither needs to be a photo of you, necessarily, but you should have something- and set a website.
