Hi Guys, Meet Faizan Ashraf, short ‘FaiZy’
.
I think ‘introduce yourself’ on steemit must be contrary to accustomed interviewer’s question. I don’t wanna just merely write the content but to get deeply involved in my memories and I’m inclined to share something contributory to the lives of readers.
.
I’m a proud Pakistani. I belong to a cultured, highly religious and strict-minded middle-class family and above all, I’m the ELDEST child of nine siblings. The eldest child especially a boy is prone to all small and big expectations of his parents and so was I. My dad happily distributed sweets among relatives and decided on the very first day of my birth that I would be the helping hand in progress of family business and Mom started to dream that her son would raise her family’s status in society and it was like my fate was decided before even my first sight of the world.
.
Based on societal norms and a huge percentage of unemployment, Dad didn’t want me to get the education and so as per his plans, I was given responsibility to handle business matters along with school at the very early age of seven years and hard-nature of my Dad never let me interfered in his decisions. I didn’t have friends in the neighborhood, no sports to participate in, no indoor or video games to play or any other childhood stuff because all my time in between school and sleeping time was spent on shop where usually my responsibilities were to shout for calling customers, dusting the chairs and other shop stuff, bringing water for customers, finding the cash change from market etc. Solitary, I continued my education regardless how worse the circumstances could be. Lack of social gatherings, strict and scolding parental behavior and restrictions on big and petty matters made me an introvert person.
.
Nobody would realize shortcomings in himself and whether he is an introvert person until circumstances made him believe that and I realized this fact when I had to move to another city for training purposes and I met people who were socially active and were aware of their surroundings while I was not, I used to feel shyness in talking to a bunch of people, I usually had nothing to share anything during colleagues gossip and I was that kind of person who doesn’t exist for anybody because in today’s society renowned people are those who possess soft skills while others who are deprived of suck skills have no societal considerations.
.
.
My life started turning when I realized that what I think or believe is based on my perception and then I decided to change my perspective on everything. I started doing things where I used to feel feared or nervousness like meeting with people in groups, presenting myself in interview situation, loudly speaking and making contributions while in gatherings based on my experiences, giving value to what I like or dislike, less thinking about what others may think or say and more about what is actually important for me. In short, I realized that it is our way of thinking, our perspective which sometimes became our worst enemy and hinders us in achieving for what we are capable of. Fear, shyness, lower self-confidence, incapability etc. etc. are just mere words and anything is possible if you are passionate to do.
.
.
.
By bringing this change, now I’ve qualified Chartered Accountancy, which is considered to be the most difficult degree to pass. Once upon a time when I didn’t have guts to travel to a new city but till now I had been in Saudi Arabia and UAE and will be in Bahrain in few days. Now I can do whatever I want to do, I can talk to anybody fearlessly, I can travel to any part of the world. Now I don’t procrastinate things, I don’t become angry on little things, I don’t get lost in thoughts all the time and try to live the moment, I listen carefully to everyone and sincerely try to be a helping hand, I’m expecting less and trying to give more, I always manage to have time for those whom I love and care for, I’ve realized that money can’t buy happiness but a quality time spent with loved ones surely can. I’ve started a journey of change in myself, a journey towards being extrovert and acceptable to modern society and it will continue.

I joined steemit on recommendations of my beloved friend @abdulmanan and I found this platform really helpful in the sense that we can earn along with getting useful information, interacting with people from different cultural values and backgrounds and can share anything whatever we want.
