How to create your first post on Steemit

This post will help you hit the ground running… I joined Steemit July 2017, but couldn’t post a thing not until @samstickkz sent me some guiding tips, then I finally made my introductory post early September 2017 (https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@fessikay/introducing-me-myself-and-i). This was largely due to the fact that the Steemit platform looked so different to me.
For my new friends on Steemit, I say a big welcome to you.

This post should get you rocking the Steemit community within few minutes of approval. So, let’s get started…
Creating your first post
Start by clicking on the “submit a story” icon (desktop version) or the “pencil” icon (mobile version) at the top right corner of the page.

Once you click on it, the page below will show up

Click on the “Title” bar and ride on by giving your post a captivating title. E.g. “Hello! Meet your one and only Kevin” that’s if your name is Kevin…Or “Introducing myself”… Just be creative with your title so as to draw attention to your post.

Next is the “Write your story” row.
Click on it and tell the Steemit community about you. What you tell the community doesn’t really have a format, but you should write those things that will connect your readers to you. Things that make you unique such as your name, personality, what you do, likes, dislikes, good sides, bad sides, friends on Steemit, etc. Just be real.
It is also good that you add a proof of who you are with some pictures (you can also snap with a Steemit logo).
Check out mine for an example (https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@fessikay/introducing-me-myself-and-i). You should also search through the Steemit community for better examples.
To add a picture, click on “selecting them” down.

Once you click it, your device’s folder will open for you to select your desired picture. Wait for it to upload.

Note: It is advisable for you to mention the name(s) of the person(s) that invited you to Steemit e.g. @fessikay, @samstickkz this will add to your reputation and even invite the person(s) to upvote your post.

Next is the “Tags bar”
This bar is very important. Tags help to group posts with related titles on the whole Steemit community. It will give your post a wider audience and tell everyone what your post is about.
To tag your post, click on the “tag bar” and type introduceyourself (note: the words are joined together).You can add more than one tag using a space between each tag but "introduceyourself" tag must be the first, as shown in the picture below:

Once you’ve added your tags, hit the “POST” button.

You’ve successfully created your first post on Steemit. Start responding positively to the comments of your new friends “amazing Steemians”.
