Hello Steemit! I'm Tony and this is my first post. I've been reading for a while and decided to take the plunge and introduce myself. Since it's nearly father's day, i thought I would start by mentioning that I'm a dad. My son is almost two, so I'm not a pro at this point. Any parenting advice for the terrible twos is welcome!
On a related note, I wanted to wish a happy father's day to all my fellow dads out there. It's easy to forget how lucky I am to have a beautiful and healthy son. I heard the following story on the radio earlier today that reminded me not to take a moment with my son for granted. This radio clip is about 5 minutes long, but well worth the listen.
So what do I hope to bring to Steemit? I majored in computer science and biology, and I've worked in Healthcare IT for 10 years now as a technical project manager and integration engineer.
Investing has also been a hobby of mine throughout the years. I've been an avid reader of Seeking Alpha over the years and love learning about financial theory and reading research papers by AQR and others.
Considering my background, I'm kind of kicking myself and wondering what took me so long to find my way to the world of cryptocurrencies! I've been reading a ton about the space for the last month now, going through white papers, and analyzing GitHub for the projects I'm most interested in.
What I'd like to do is write a series of articles about investing and finance theory applied to cryptocurrencies. I think I can provide a unique angle given my computer science background, experience working with large healthcare organizations to implement enterprise software, and my knowledge of financial theory.

Happy Father's Day and your son is just so cute! It's glad to hear that you have a computer science background and are interested in finance, especially for cryptocurrency. Honestly I seldom used technical analysis as I think it's hard to apply them on cryptos' trend and I am interested in cryptocurrency indexing and how Nassim Taleb would construct your crypto portfolio, despite the fact that I have zero idea about him

Welcome to Steemit! I really enjoyed your introduction, I am a new father myself, no real advice for the terrible twos really. From what I know you take everything you like that's at ground level and put it where they can't reach.
I'm sure you're going to have plenty to post and I look forward to reading it. I've been in the medical/healthcare field for about 4 years myself and I know you can get plenty of stories regardless of where your office might sit just by working there.

I have a baby girl that just hit 7 weeks, and everyday is a great new experience. I love it.
I work as an EMT for a transport company. No IT, but I am a big fan of the IT folks that make it possible for us to streamline our jobs as well as they have. I am also an EMT in the air national guard, where I have a much bigger skillset than I do civilian side. IT is a whole new monster there but we have teams of people that make it work, and they are amazing at what they do.

There's definitely so much you learn on the fly! I'm glad your interactions with IT have been good so far. That's not always what I hear, and we admittedly still have a long ways to go as an industry. Well off to bed now, little one wakes at 5am.
