A Minnow on a Mission.

Hello Stemians!!!  My name's Doug (Call me GoatHollow) and I'm on a mission to spread the word!!!  You see I'm quite convinced that the World we live in (Matrix) is on the verge of collapse.  Not the "Mad Max", "Book of Eli", or neighbors shooting each other over a hand full of rice kind of collapse.  What I see coming is a 1930's depression on steroids kind of collapse.  I see riots, looting, and Molotov Cocktails, yes.... But people do  have an inherent kindness about them, and neighbors helping neighbors will be more prevalent.   We actually have a great opportunity!  

We get to live through the collapse of the greatest Empire ever seen!  We get to witness this - It's exciting!!!

 Western Governments will survive what's to come, but they'll become unable to fund themselves, and a much more anarchist future awaits under these "Failed States".  This doesn't mean death, destruction, and eating each other's flesh for food... It means freedom, kids being able to have a lemonade stand without being hassled, and it means less dependence on centralized systems.  It means less poison in our food, being healthy without a pharmaceutical corporation robbing you blind, and actual cures for diseases... Without Doctors driving to the golf course in a Lexus.   Crypto-currencies, 3D printing, and open source information will transform how we live.  The "Gig economy" Barter, Time Banking, and ride sharing will be the norm.  Small business will flourish without the hamstrings that Government uses to benefit Corporations.  

In order to be successful in this new World, We'll have to have marketable skills, and products!  I'm trying to start a small business now, farming for vegetables and fruits on my own 1 acre small holding.  We aren't sure yet if we'll be participating in a local Farmer's market, or just operating a farm, or produce stand here onsite.

Beyond fruit and veggie sales, I'm hoping to be able to educate!!!  You see I live in Iowa (US,)  right in the middle of GMO corn, and soybean central.  Local farmers will be lost without the ability to buy seeds from big agriculture corporations, or diesel to run big "John Deere" tractors on.  There won't be any Government subsidies either.  My little place must become an educational beacon.  A demonstration site, to show how there are Permaculture techniques to control weeds, and pests without tons of chemical sprays.  A place where the local high school kids can tour to learn how to feed people without relying on the fragile, just in time systems we now live with.

I'm using this as my introduction posting here on Steemit, and hoping to over time use any revenue I make here as feed stock for materials to create this educational demonstration project that I'm envisioning.  My Wife has Multiple Sclerosis, so we're limited in how much fiat currency we can earn through traditional channels, and I really appreciate your comments on my vision, and your "Upvotes"!!!
