My name is Green Run, I am a Nigerian. Nigeria is a country in West Africa under the continent of Africa.
Yeah, I think the long introduction is necessary as I have found out most people outside of here thinks Africa is a country, sorry to burst that bubble, it is actually a continent :)
I heard about steemit two months ago but just too lazy to sign up. Then about ten days signed up and here I am writing my first post.
As I don't consider myself much of a restricted personality I'll be blogging about all type of things. Some may have to do with Nigeria, some may just have to do with any other thing including the reason the sky is blue :)
Nigeria as a country are made up of mostly nice people who really care about their neighbours. Some of us are rich (the tales of us living in trees are so old school) and some not so rich.
We've got a rich culture here and the people are super resilient and very hard working even under the most harsh condition. I and my country men are happy people.
SO I'll stop here. I'm new and will like to make some friends here. So if you have any question about me, Nigeria or the reason the sky is blue, please do ask. This a no holds barred session :)

I think it may have to do with the environment. You just have to think outside the box to survive and run the daily tasks while juggling a lot of other things like the forever present extended families.

then that might explain things since I was raised in a small community, more like a village than a town.....I still live in this village experience with an extended family (extreemely rare for Americans). Villages make more sense to me than cities. Not many Americans live the way I do. So it is possible that I have much more in common with people who live in small packs, tribes, villages, small clusters....

I hear that extended families are like endangered species over there. But it's common place here. Everyone got one. Some you may never know you have till you get a call 10pm at night that someone wants to sleep over at your place. Then the caller explains he's the son of your mother's great grandmother who needed a place to pass the night!
