Researcher at work & philosopher at heart

Dear Steemians,

Subject: Introducing myself after an year #Procrastination

I think it is quite late for me to introduce myself. But as a Hindi saying goes, "जब जागो तभी सवेरा" (similar to an English phrase Better late than never but with a twist). I joined this platform almost an year back, but has become more active recently.

I am an avid reader and a researcher by profession. Currently, I am working at Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). You can say my expertise lies in Astronomy & Astrophysics. In the past 5 years, I have worked on Astrosat (India's first multi-wavelength space astronomy mission), and Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM). I highly doubt that any of my reader has heard about these two space missions. Still, if you are that rare person who knows about them, kindly comment. I would love to know what you know.

While going through Steemit, I realized that most of the members here are into blockChain and crypto. As a result, Steemit has got a good intellectual community of crypto enthusiasts. But, same is not true for Physics (especially Astronomy and Quantum computing). If any expert or individuals interested in these fields are reading this post, then do comment. I would like to make and be part of a vibrant Physics community, and I am trying my best to find good individuals on steemit. Please help if you are one of them. Let's find each other. I will publish posts on my latest research on Autonomous Spacecraft Navigation using X-ray Pulsars soon.

In my steemit blog, I am going to discuss about spirituality (particulary Hindu Philosophy) and its deep and profound implications. I will give equal and sometimes more preference to scientific literature. Most of you may be thinking that why do I want to talk about spirituality when I am in my heart a true believer of science. To all such readers, my answer is that the two fields complement each other. If one is the way to look outside then other is the way to introspect inside (Read this blog entry). West has spearheaded the research in science for past millenia, but India has been spearheading the research in spirituality for almost 4 millenia (still contentious). So, being from India, where spirituality is deeply embedded in the way we live, I am truly at an advantage of having lived a life where the two currents of science and spirituality are augmenting each other.

In addition to these two areas, I am also interested in poetry (mostly Hindi, sometimes Urdu, and rarely English). To all those Hindi/Urdu poets out there, let's share the old gems as well as new creations on #hindustanipoetry. I would like to end this post quoting one of my favourite poems of all time by Dushyant Kumar ji.

With love and respect,
I sign off now,
नमस्ते!! (I bow to the God that you are)

Really nice intro keep posting bro i'm here to support you

@sagartalekar Thank you very much! Looking forwards for your posts too.

Whats the most inspiring part here is that, you have knowledge and can speak about two contrasting subjects, which in themselves are very different and vast.

Sadhguru the Spiritual Guru was once asked about banning plastic in India. He said Plastic is a wonderful material and resolves a lot of issues and should be considered as a solution. It is irresponsible humans who threw plastic here and there that caused it into a problem. Point is if we are responsible in what we are doing we will not only survive but excel in our goals.

You might be thinking this incident has no link to your introduction. Just wanted to tell you though you delayed your introduction by one year, but you are still a responsible person and achieved the task, unlike other people who have converted a wonderful solution like plastic into a problem :)

@aashucryptocharm Thanks!
Do you follow Sadhguru?

Yes, i am trying to follow him to get rid of my addictions ..it is helping a bit

One of the most powerful forms of human communications is praise. We are surrounded by opportunities to use it — in teamwork, in the workplace, in family life, in volunteering, even in dog training — and when we do it well, it works wonders.

Congratulations @haxins!

@devsingh You are absolutely right.

Tanul brother m not an expert to any perticular field but i have a considerable amount of knowledge from every field of studies as u will observe in my daily articles too...most f my topics are current based with a touchup from every feild of knowledge...therefore i recently have started my blog also regarding general studies...

Spirituality and science both are different . Sciences can be explained but Spirituality its a feel and more you go deep you find peace with yourself . its a very deep topic which need time to discuss. Great to know about it

They are different, but at the same time similar too. I will discuss about them in one of my posts soon.

@haxins
Amazing Post My friend.. 👌 👌 👌 👌
Best work u doing..

bhai ISRO? just woah, one question: do you think our ancient people were also good at astrology and space? would love to know your answer!!

@jatinkkalra Ancients were really good at astrology. The knowledge of astrology was discovered by our ancestors only. I want to make one point clear that there is a difference between astronomy and astrology, and do not confuse them with each other.

Were they good at space?
I believe they were. The thing is I cannot read Sanskrit, and most of our ancient knowledge is contained in books written in Sanskrit. I cannot authoritatively say that they were good at it. But in some of the well researched books I have read that Aryabhatta discovered that the Earth was round 1000 years before the Greeks.

Very well explain about your thoughts.

what is the meaning of autonomous?

@jaineel Autonomous here refers to the capability of making decisions independently without any support from ground satation. Imagine that spacecraft is capable of navigating (travelling) in space just like self-driving cars.

Really good inatiative,active members are really need. I ensure you i will be one of them

@rishad19 Thanks!

This is the nataraj statue situate at the CERN laboratory near geneva switzerland,they put lord shiva statue coz they found the presence of god in the universe as they named a god particle which they found after large hydrogen collide.,so mr Tanul gupta i believe you in both avatar as a scientist and as a spiritual person too and i do follow isro projects so i know our well known MOM the project was completed below the budget of hollywood movie Gravity

@jigsindian These are the exact words of Fritzoff Kapra

Hundreds of years ago, Indian artists created visual images of dancing Shivas in a beautiful series of bronzes. In our time, physicists have used the most advanced technology to portray the patterns of the cosmic dance. The metaphor of the cosmic dance thus unifies ancient mythology, religious art and modern physics.

The Higgs Boson popularly known as god particle is called so because it is very important as well as very elusive. Moreover, the particle accelerator used is knows as Large Hadron Collider (LHC).

Thanks for believing in me. It's great to know that you have the idea regarding Indian technological achievements. We still have a long way to go. But it's time that we should stop feeling proud of the frugality of the mission, and start appreciating missions for their scientific merit.

Great intro keep posting about ISRO would love to read about it

late but you introduced yourself.

Spirituality is a great thing but narrow minds don't understand it completely and hence end up in making some weird rituals which are not needed at all

Rituals are also a necessary part of the Hindu spiritual philosophy. These are not weird as long as we know the significance of them. Believe me, most of the rituals have certain significance associated with them.

@himanitokas We all are educated in Western Philosophy by our education system. The system is trying very hard to keep us away from our roots and culture. So to know about the culture, we need to take steps in that direction. If you are interested to know more about yourself, and your identity, I can suggest you some good books.

I agree with you and I assure you that I don't have a western mindset and what I was trying to say was not about all the rituals it is about some of them like:
1- our elders always say that do not wash your hair on Tuesday Thursday and Saturday and reason they give is that paap chdhega or something bad will happen but this is not true earlier people in India were very much wise than today's people they valued water and maybe that's why they made some rules like these so that we do not waste water in washing our hair daily. But our elders and many people without thinking of any logic behind this just made it a kind of ritual.
2- mesturation during periods there were no pads that's why people may have advised girls to wear old clothes so that their new clothes don't ruin, to sleep on floor, so that mattress does not get dirty, don't enter kitchen so that you can rest but today largely it seen in some northern India villages and many other places these things are followed as a ritual, and if you ask any adult they will not give you a logical reason they will just say esa hi hota h

  1. Elders say one must not broom after evening. Earlier there was no electricity there were oil lamps so there is a possibility when people used to broom their houses after daylight their belongings may be swept off along with garbage and due to lack off light they could not see that so they made a kind of rule to not to broom after daylight but now when we have pretty good electricity then their in no problem in sweeping the floor but people made this a ritual.
    This is what I saw referring to. Indian philosophy and spirituality is great only when one understand it completely. And I'm giving you a link you can read my views so that you ca understand better what I was referring to.
    http://kadwakarela2.blogspot.com/2018/03/mahakaali-can-do-anything-jai-mahakaali.html?m=1
    This is my viewpoint maybe I'm wrong but I'm trying to analyse things bcoz I don't believe in following blindly

Welcome to Steemit

Nice introduction buddy you introduce yourself very nicely keep it up
