Introduce yourself Hazem Ben Salem!

My name is hazem I'm a 27 years old tunisian Engineer. I'm also a writer. I write poems mostly. I started writing , in arabic as soon as they tought us to. There's something about arabic poetry that makes it, if you go by the old school rules, really hard and really relevent to produce anything. When I learned those rules, I thought any text that doesn't abide them is not concidered a poem. So I started my "new" style and I lost all my previous writings, by mistake of course, but I think it was because I stopped appreciating them. lately I realised that was a big mistake.

When I wrote some arabic old school poems, I just couldn't write freestyle anymore for a while, I couldn't write without a rhythm anymore and it felt so unconfortable writing essays or articles. So I only wrote them when I was forced to do so, I mean in exams. Once in a camp, during a writing workshop, they asked us to write a text about fear in two hours so I wrote a poem instead. And trust me, if I wasn't kind of excited about publishing my first post today, I would write an #introduceyourself poem. But I don't feel inspired enough so that would take few more days and can't wait that long.

After that, I started writing in english but with some old arabic poetry rules(not all of them of course) and that was a very fun experiance I hope it never ends. I think I'm kind of perfectionist about writing, or at least I think I am. Since I take long time to write and edit over and over again, I never post anything unless I love it and I don't easily love something, especially if it's mine. I'm very curious to know if that would change because of steemit.

According to my friends, I'm a really good poet but I'm not sure whether they are beeing objective or just supportive. I know I would encourage a friend if he writes. Lately, I was trying to know if I'm as good as they say, so I want an honest objective, and maybe expert, opinion. I was looking for a magazine or something that posts poems to see if I can prove my talent to myself and to the world. And I guess you know the rest of the story.

Steemit is actually a very good surprise. I'm counting on all of you to tell me, and of course to show me, how good I am( If you know what I mean ;p). So I'm posting a sample of my writing in my blog in the next few minutes and I hope you like it. If you do like it there will be much more coming, I promise!

Am I in this for the money?
Well, as I explained earlier, it's more of proving myself that I'm after. But, of course, no one says no to getting paid.
