Hello all you Steemit folks!!!
I'm not entirely sure what this is all about, but I find myself joining the community! Almost a decade ago, an old friend of mine, @cryptohustlin told me about BitCoin. However, we'd each had a fair bit of wine first, and I assumed it was drunken rambling! BIG MISTAKE. Fast forward to us catching up recently, and him saying to me, "You should join Steemit." Needless to say, I listened. And here I am!
Researching cryptocurrency kind of makes my brain start melting out my ears, as I'm not a math wiz, but I'm trying to get more familiar with it. Perhaps you all can help. :)Hello, I'm Hannah.

The trick is to see it as something you can spend. You don't need to be a financial advisor or understand how the central banks float our money on the stock markets to understand how to use money, right? Think of it like that. You don't need to be a crypto nut to spend Steem :)

@raymondspeaks WHEW! That's a relief! Luckily I have a couple of friends who seem to be "in the know". What's odd about it is that I consider myself to be someone of average intelligence, but the crypto market is kind of like trying to think about the concept of time or infinity or something! I'll simplify to your approach I think. Lol

Welcome!! Basically you make posts about your interests. Or you make comments to other folks posts. If people upvote and the vote is worth money - you get a part of that. It’s all in the two cryptos for this site - SBD and Steem. I recommend you explore and get a feel for how it works. I did that my first week.

Allow me to be one of the first to welcome you to the Steemit community! I too was skeptical of BitCoin and other cryptocurrencies. Was never on board with something so revolutionary. Although, I must say that it's sad the USD is of such low value in comparison with BTDs.
I hope you get the most out of this website as it is a platform that encourages interaction between creators and fans. It's a genius method of rewarding ordinary people in sharing their writings, art and experiences with a large group of people. And also rewards fans in giving feedback to those things.
