Greetings Steemit family! At this point I have waited more than long enough to do my #introduceyourself post. So without further ado...

10403882_428737137264688_8941738332573493586_o.jpg

Being in nature is one of my favorite parts of this life. I have found that mother nature is like a health spa for our minds, bodies & spirits. Spending time outside with the beauty and bounty of our Earth, in all of her phases, does so much for depression and anxiety - my mind and heart feel cleansed and healed when in the presence of our great nurturer. Earth does not take years for her healing to work ~ spend 15 minutes in nature and you will look and feel more alive, fresh, and beautiful than you did even 15 minutes before. She has medicinal properties that no money can buy.

My first job was in the nursery above. I have almost exclusively worked with plants since this time. This was a blissful space & I thoroughly
enjoyed my days "deadhead-ing" and maintaining plants here.

12190823_606585032813230_130202306591929800_n.jpg

As you can tell by now, I'm definitely a bit of a nature enthusiast.

Hula hooping holds a special place in my heart and has for the past two or so years. When I first started hooping, I'd spend hours a day inside my circle, like it was my job. From the moment I picked up a hoop, I knew that I wanted it to be apart of my life. I've certainly come a long way from where I started, and I don't ever like going too long without a flow session. I will always make a point to bring mine along or buy another when traveling. I just can't help myself when it comes to this hobby. Now that it is warming up, I will definitely be trying my hand at some new tricks.

Click below to see a quick video of me hooping at this year's Anarchaforko. Thank you @lily-da-vine for facilitating this gathering and allowing us to utilize this space

One of things in this life that brings me the most joy is creating beauty! I can't get enough! Above is one of my handmade hemp necklaces before being finished. I cannot express the honor and happiness that I feel to be able to work with one of the most wonderful plants known to man, in so many ways. Whether it be working with hemp twine, fabric, or the plants themselves - it absolutely fills me up. I have been persecuted in the past for possession of this plant so it's truly freeing to have the ability to incorporate it into these different areas of my life today.

Wearing organic hemp in front of organic ganja that I tended to a couple seasons ago. These plants were beautiful beasts and I thank the heavens every day for the opportunity to work with them

My friends/family play such a big role in my life and I really don't know where I would be without them today. I have met so many wonderful human beings since I have been here on this Earth and am so grateful for each of you who have made a difference in my life. I love this tribe so much, near or far we are always connected.

Helping pack out the Third Eye Shoppe after its going out of business ↑ I have so many fond memories of this place and will never forget the good times spent here, whether it was to help load hundreds upon hundreds of copies of The Emperor Wears No Clothes in as well as out of the basement, assembly-line style, or just for a visit.

The Third Eye was loved by many in the community. This graffiti appeared on the back side of the building shortly before the closing of the shop. I witnessed many a glass display case be carried down/up this set of old stairs by @elamental and others

The Emperor Wears No Clothes by Jack Herer

This book affirmed for me everything I knew to be true about cannabis, and more. It gives a comprehensive history of the plant and how it was criminalized. It's something I will read again and again, and I would highly recommend you check it out at least once. This copy was generously gifted to me by the author's son, which I am still grateful for today, as it was something I needed to read and have in my life.

This is the book that started the cannabis hemp revolution. More than 600,000 copies have been sold to date. Jack wanted this information to be available to everyone, so he published the text of the book here on the internet for free.

Family Faire with my love ~ @elamental

This event is something I look forward to each year. There's a pretty large hill on the edge of the grounds, and if you climb to the top, you'll find neat structures like this peace sign and rock thrones further up. If you make it up high enough, you'll see that the grounds are in the shape of a heart ♡ Pretty fitting as the atmosphere is filled with a lot of love.

Being in the path of totality during the eclipse was hands down one of the most incredible things I have ever experienced. I will never look at the sky, the sun, or the moon in the same way; on that day a whole new sort of respect & Love for our earth was woven into, breathed into my existence. I have never been through anything quite like it. It was while at the eclipse gathering that I realized that I could no longer sit idly by while the fashion industry destroys the earth, and that I need to be one of the people effecting change. So this was where the name of my clothing brand was birthed- Total Eclipse Threads. Of course it was only natural that mother nature had such a big hand in this process.

We went early in the year which was the perfect time to go. It wasn't unbearably hot like it can be later in the year. Gem & Jam and the gem show in general were both absolutely beautiful and unforgettable! The energy of all those crystals together at once is quite intense.

Wow great post and nice to meet you. I hope you will have a great time here on Steemit. And yes it's an awesome plant too bad there are too many stupid rules and I live in the Netherlands....

Upvoted and Following :)

I hope there will be a time in the near future where you won't have to worry about those nonsense rules. Your comment, up-vote & follow are all greatly appreciated, my friend! Wishing you well from the U.S.

This is one of the better introduce yourself posts I've seen. I can tell you put a lot into it. Miss you girl, much love with a full upvote and a resteem.

On another note....we are scary alike. I love the photo with the succulent...

And in regards to the tying hemp, that was my childhood lol I'll definately make you some beads and pendies for you to play around with next year at the fork >:D we should do some sort of crafts fork event lol

  ·  6 years ago (edited)

I had similar thoughts when we met..."we are scary alike!" Down to the color of our locks! I am so thankful we crossed paths. I think of you and miss ya every day my sister. I like the sound of a crafts fork event; I meant to bring my hemp last time but I just could not make it fit, lol. If we both get into plant dyes, then we could show others how. I believe the process is slightly different when you're doing skeins of yarn vs fabric so we could collaborate on a lesson. It is an ancient DYING art that needs revival. Are you talking about making glass beads and pendants? That would be so cool. I used to do beads from polymer clay which were fun. Thank you for your comment @lily-da-vine, made my day! Sending love your way today.

Yeah I've had comical Parent Trap thoughts with us, but like if the girls in that movie were stoners lol.

We should definately collaborate for next year, I honestly believe all crafts are dying, sewing and crochet included so I think it's worth sharing. Also a great way to take control of your life as an anarchist, I don't know about you but I have a hard time finding clothes that fit my skinny frame correctly, being able to sew and crochet is a huge advantage.

I was talking about glass beads, at the least I'll have a few to give you next year when I see you. :) Maybe we could hang out and you could try making one yourself on the torch sometime, time permitting.

Omgaia I loveee that thought. You're so right about all crafts dying though, really. Classes are in order ♡
Glassblowing seems intimidating as all get out, but likely just because I've never done it before. I'd be honored to have you show me!
If all goes well I'd like to have something special made for you by the next time we cross paths. Good thing I have plenty of time to hone my skills. Would you say you wear a small?

Yes, probably pretty close in size to what you wear, I'm just shorter from what I can tell.

Excited for next year, we're getting ready to start really planning the fork stuff again, this time much earlier.

So am I! @elamental and I will spend a good part of the year preparing for it too.

Whoa, you have a lot of crystals. That huge amethyst! One of my favorites. A plate of aragonite to feed your soul =)

I'll never forget holding that big ol' amethyst in my hands for the first time. Not sure that I have ever held a bigger piece even to this day.

Beautiful. Nature at its best! I love all the photos you provided.

Many thanks for looking and for your comments! I'm glad you appreciated the photos.

We gotta blaze it! When is your man gonna call and let's hang! And we're you at Tabor this 420?

Love it Sister and keep being you! Got any cute single friends? I could use a stoner girl with a green thumb!

  ·  6 years ago (edited)

Sorry we both have been really busy. He has been meaning to call you but there's not been time. I'm surprised we didn't see you at Tabor because we were up there. @elamental wants to know what you're doing tomorrow?
Thank you for your compliment & encouraging words :-) I haven't got any single friends that match your description though, at least not that I can think of off the top of my head! hehe

I'm trying to get over to @powpow420 and check in on him. And then trying to get to the waterfront for the beautiful weather. Have class Friday 5-8 for weapons and lightsaber sparring... Sunday is drumcircle at Tom McCall waterfront Park at the beginnings of se Salmon Street.

And yeah I was blazed at Tabor for sure! And now I think about it I might have seen you! You look like a rainbow Family friend of mine.

But yeah same name on discord. Hit me up let's smoke!

  ·  6 years ago (edited)

Do you have a saber? That sounds like an interesting class.

As for being blazed on Tabor, I think all of us were. At least the ones with some sense were, lol. It's very possible you saw us up there. We were posted up by a tree up top, blazin it and eating vegan gummies :-)
Yesss let's burn one down

Yep and we were Swordfighting at Tabor but it was a bit late...

And will be having the sabers at drum circle. The nerds are not interested in learning more like playing pretend and dressup. But me and my buddy Mike are taking it seriously. And have the gym too we can work out at. And you are welcome anytime. Let me know. Teaching class Friday 5-8

But yeah see you Sunday! Dog will be excited! And I'll be there early. So let me know when you are planning on being there

Welcome @Hempress! Have you been to Costa Rica?

Not yet, but I'd like to make it there one day. Tell me about your clever cocktail toast!

Thanks for asking! My cocktail toast are...
Most Clever Cocktail Toast Ever: “Here’s to living famously, drinking dangerously, lying audaciously and to the friends who forgive us for doing so.”
Most Clever Cocktail Toast of 2011: “Too the best of vices and too the worst of vices. May I one day know the difference.”
2012 Toast: “Here’s to embracing the fleeting moment.”

Such a well thought of introduction post. Love your nursery, and crystal collection! Those are some mean hooping skills. I can even get one proper revolution going. Lol

Welcome to Steemit! Looks like you're going to be having a great time here. Pls do a hooping for dummies post will you?

Cheers

Happy birthday sweet queen - I appreciate your thoughtful comment so very much ♡ I absolutely cannot get over how we've become connected...contacting each other within minutes without having seen the other's message?! I love this platform for so many reasons and what happened with us is a beautiful & perfect example of why it can be so amazing. You're beautiful ♡

Yes! Still just smiling over the whole thing. It really just goes to show how connected we are as as ONE human consciousness. Some frequencies more in tune and vibrating alike. It was a very meaningful message for me.

To feel the closeness of our essence. It is hard sometimes when we have a huge tendency to judge based on appearances. Though some may feel the tendencies are higher here, I feel it is so much lower. We can slow down enough to take someone in, without the social awkwardness.

Don't get me wrong, I do like physical meetups too....just wrapping my head around this whole thing. :)

Thank you once again for the birthday wishes. xx

Tis a blessed day indeed.

Hello @hempress, i really learn a lot from your introductory blog that how to properly develop a compact and impressive introduction. for my future reference i put a link to your intro in my blog. please have a look
https://steemit.com/life/@sultanmr/best-new-steemers-introductory-posts---page-1-1525300535-8823364

My introductory post is far from compact but I'm glad you learned some things from it. I saw your post earlier today and commented on it. Thank you for your support and appreciation, and for sharing my story. Wishing you well @sultanmr

Wonderful post resonates so much with my way of thinking, surprised I not come across you until now. But hey Steemit is like that!

Really drawn to animal spirits currently, I recently got some oracle cards. I might start doing some reading on here possibly. Anyways not sure what my animals is I think the Elephant and the Monkey they both appear in my mediation, can you have two? Anyways following for more like this :) 💯🐒

  ·  6 years ago (edited)

Thanks for reading and for your follow @vibeof100monkeys! Happy to meet you :-) I also have a spirit animal oracle deck! I don't see why you couldn't have two. If they both resonate strongly with you then I do not see the issue. ♡ Stay in touch

Haha seem we have a lot in common! Yer they both crop up in my meditation quite often. Will do, nice to connect 💯🐒

Well met! Grateful you stumbled upon me! Following!

@hempress....welcome to this great community..I'm positive you'll do well , I've followed you, please do well to follow back..peace!

Are you living in an area that's blessed with a lot of your spirit animals at the moment? We have a ton of foxes near us and we're going to miss them when we move.

  ·  6 years ago (edited)

Unfortunately no ~ being in the city there aren't any. where do you live, and where are you venturing to?

Leaving South East London where the nearest green space is 30 seconds away. Almost every night there’s a fox sighting and our record is 11! Quite a few daytime sightings too, including one just in front of my window.
Heading for Acapulco (much slower than expected – more preparation to do than I anticipated).

Wow! 11! You're blessed. Not much in the way of foxes in Acapulco, I just spent all of February there. Plenty of street dogs though and some of them sort of look like foxes in a way I guess :-) Do you know about Anarchapulco which happens there every year? I'm sure you will enjoy yourself - that is quite a move! Wishing you all the best as your embark on your journey. Another interesting tidbit, my family is from South-End-on-Sea in Essex ♡ not far from where you are now I think. I wonder what made you decide to up and move across the world?

We are REALLY blessed with wildlife here, & it’s the foxes I’ll miss the most. Those 11 really were separate sightings, too, not just the same guy doubling back. I’ll also miss the squirrels a little because Acapulco squrirels aren’t quite the same.
There are so many reasons for the move and I hope I remember them all when people ask us why we did it, and there will be a lot of friends & family asking (we’ve only told one in advance – good thing none of the others are on Steemit).
I’m more in tune with Anarchoforko than Anarchapulco, oddly enough, and very annoyed we didn’t make it there for the first one. The way we’re going we’ll be lucky to get there by this year’s Buen Fin (the Mexican Black Friday).

  ·  6 years ago (edited)

Even if you get a late start, it'll be fine because at least you'll get more opportunities to spot some foxes right ;-) I have heard about how you can feed the red squirrels in England and how they will come right up to you. It is a shame you didn't make it to the Fork as it was a wonderful time. It was an honor and a pleasure to be there for the first year. I hope we get the chance to cross paths in person next time around!

You'd be lucky to find a red one these days. But I did get a grey to eat out of my (gloved) hand. Video to prove it!

HERMOSA FOTOGRAFÍA, LA FELICITO.. GRACIAS POR COMPARTIRLA.

i muchas gracias!

Fantastic #introduceyourself article, it reminds me a lot of my introduction post. I am so happy you have decided to become an extensively active member of this community with me. I love you sweetheart! @tribesteemup 4Life!

So much gratitude to you for re-steeming this! Warming my heart!! You are such a kind soul ♡
Did you see the bit about family faire? It's in Tonasket, Washington which is just a few miles from the Canada border.
I wonder what the herb is like that is grown that far north.
