PLEASE NOTE: i will be posting from @holly soon. My name is Holly Rilinger and I'm health and wellness coach living in NYC.

Here's a little bit about me: I grew up in the midwest - my grandparents were farmers and my entire extended family still lives in Kansas. I'm grateful for my humble beginning because it's given me the ability to relate to so many different kinds of people.

I'm 5'4 and played professional basketball. Why? Because that was my dream as a kid and I poured my heart and soul into making it a reality. I retired many years ago and decided to make health and wellness my platform to teach others how to reach for their biggest, baddest dreams. For me, wellness is only partly about the body. It's equally about the mind and spirit.

I've lived in NYC for the past 12 years and have grown to love the city. It's full of opportunity and has allowed me to continue to reach my biggest dreams. I starred on BRAVO'S TV show "Workout New York", helped build a multi-million dollar boutique fitness company called Flywheel, created my own training method, LIFTED, that fuses meditation with training and am the author of my first book - LIFTED (28 day program to strengthen your body, clear your mind and elevate your spirit).

I've appeared on Dr. Oz, The Today Show and Fox News as well as contributed to just about any publication you can think of - Cosmo, Vanity Fair, USA Today, Allure, Self, Fitness Mag, Huffington Post and many many more. I recently launched my own coaching remote coaching business, allowing me to coach people all over the world. Nothing brings me more joy than helping others make impactful change in their lives!! Im looking forward to sharing personal tips on Stremit that can help others lead healthier lives. I hope you enjoy my posts and I'm excited to a part of this community!

Hello welcome to Steemit! I have had a great experience so far and I hope you do too! There are a couple of things I wish I was made aware of when I first joined. Ill bring up some uncommon things I've at least noticed people don't mention too often.

Steemworld.org/@(your username)
-a (nearly) complete interactive page that gives you a better overall experience and overview of what is really happening on your steem page.
-steemstats is not that good
-steemviz is a good pending payout site(does not include curation but has total pending payout including comment payouts)
steemengine.net
-in my experience voting on steemengine.net does not give or bring better upvotes in a significant manner to make using your voting power worth it. HOWEVER...the followers gained is unreal. I gained 50 just yesterday. If you want you can use my referal link not required though...

Hi @Hollywoodnyc! That's some nice journey you got there. Here in Steemit, you can be rewarded through your posts or your comments. That is when somebody upvoted you. You can increase these chances through resteems - these are shares. Upvote others as well because it rewards them like you.

I'll share this one as my way of supporting @Shareables. If you want free resteems, follow @Shareables. While it was very recent since they started their campaign, it is still very helpful for us authors in the future.

You can read more information about their campaign here!

They will randomly choose posts from their followers everyday and resteem them for FREE! Just imagine if they've earned more than a thousand followers. If your post is resteemed, it will be visible to all those followers. Great right?

The best way to be rewarded is to expect nothing! Focus on your content and create content worth reading for. We call them articles and you of course as authors. If you provide good quality contents people will come to your blog and read them. Upvotes are of course the biggest bonuses.

Hi @hollywoodnyc @holly! Sorry to bust in, just wanna share this. You can follow @Shareables for free resteems. They randomly pick good contents everyday from their lucky followers and resteem them for free. Though it was only very recent since they started their campaign, I am one of their supporters who believes they can be of great help in time.

I bet you'll have lots of good contents soon worth resteeming for, and @Shareables would be more pleased to have you on board. :)

Welcome to the platform Holly and quite an accomplished career you have (and hopefully continue to have)!

My fitness is like a stuttering engine really, I have fits and spurts of activity and try to run at least once per week but my other routines have fallen by the way side the last 2 weeks.... eek!

I'll follow you and look forward to seeing what tips and tricks you have as I do need to work on my nutrition... chocolate just tastes too good lol

Hello, Holly, and Welcome to Steemit.

In light of your background, you'll probably have a lot to bring to this platform – either on Steemit or on D-Tube.

I agree strongly that wellness includes wellness of mind, soul, and spirit. Clearly, more and more people are realizing that these days, and these platforms will most likely prove to be a good channel to spread that knowledge to a wider and wider audience.

Below are a few basic points of advice re posting on Steemit.

Longer posts are more lucrative than short posts. If you make a post of 20–30 paragraphs, it's more likely to earn rewards.
Include some photos, images or graphs, to complement the text.
Make sure the text and photos are formatted properly, so that your post looks attractive and appealing.
Be yourself.
Be interesting and informative.
Create quality content. Steemit is intended to be a platform of quality content. (You will see many insignificant posts with meager content and no quality. Most of those of posts [called “shitposts” by Steemit whale Stellabelle] will earn few rewards and soon pass into oblivion.)
Get online and start curating. Read various posts, comment on those posts you find interesting, and upvote those posts. That’s the best way to attract followers.
