Hi Steemians, my name is Michael and this is my first ever post on Steem! I've recently become very interested with cryptocurrency, along with half of the world after the recent surge of Bitcoin, and Steem is a very appealing platform and currency to me.
I am an avid traveller, and have spend around 6 months of my 22 years travelling through Myanmar, and another 2 months backpacking through South America.
Myanmar (formerly known as Burma) is an incredible place that is widely misunderstood on the international stage. I would highly recommend travelling there, and if anyone is in need of suggestions let me know. The country really has it all, from amazing lakes to desert-like paradises to beaches to mountainous regions, there is no-one who would fail to find a place they love there.
Other than travel, my main passion is medicine, and I'm currently 2 years away from qualifying as a medical doctor. I'm very much looking forward to my next rotation in Paediatrics and am currently researching a place to go on a medical elective for a month or so at the end of the year. Any suggestions for awesome destinations, either as holiday spots or places with some cool medicine would be greatly appreciated. I'm currently looking at Johannesburg for a trauma surgery or emergency department placement or the Maldives or Seychelles for an awesome holiday destination.
I am taking over as the coordinator for a program called Teddy Bear Hospital in 2018, where medical students travel to primary schools to teach them about healthy lifestyle choices through a fun and interactive session.
We get them to bring in their teddies, and we make up a story about how they're hurt and through this we teach them the importance of healthy eating, basic first aid and that doctors aren't so scary. Imagine if every time you went to the doctor it was to get a painful injection and you came out crying! You'd be scared of doctors too.
I think it's a great program, that really teaches children the value of healthcare, and lowers their levels of fear regarding doctors. Plus, they love the life sized teddy!

Even though i knew bitcoin myself for long, i was postponing it for future since last 6 years. But the recent surge in prices have made me realize my mistake. With that realization i starting doing research on cryptos and ended up on STEEMIT. Almost kind of just like you.

Look into PTOY coin, Hosko. I invested in it because my identity was stolen from the oncology clinic ( along with everyone elses) in 2015. PTOY is a blockchain based Medical records platform being developed, and I think its at 15 cents per token now. When I invest- I look at the utility, and the long term effect the coin will have on the world. I wish I was young again and could travel, however, I suffered a stroke in 7/2017, have stage 3 chronic kidney disease from post streptoccocal glumerlo nephritis and also wear a V-GO 40 insulin delivery device, which makes international, and even local travel within my state, a bit cumbersome, and requires advanced planning. Ive been looking at Myanmar, myself also, but will probably only ever be able to view it from posts of other travelers. A favorite destination of mine is Golfito Costa Rica, although I havent been there in over 8 years. Thanks for your vote on my previous post about the whale/minnow dispute. Im not here for money- Im here to make freinds and learn about other cultures.
