Contrarianism #introduceyourself

Contrarian journalism is characterised by articles and books making counterintuitive claims, or attacking what is said to be the conventional wisdom. The perceived wisdom on most social media platforms is that to be a success you have to be able to network and make friends with the right people to get yourself noticed.

I wont be doing that

With the female of the species it always helps if your instagram photos are glamorous and if you are male then displaying your six pac is considered to be an asset. Good looks sell. Never the less the posing is often narcissistic. We display what we love and hope that others will love it too.

I wont be doing that

We are encouraged to follow others who are considered a success and who rake in the money. Success is measured by a healthy balance on Steemit. We are told that we have to follow, comment and upvote to break into the community, and I suppose everybody tries to inveigle themselves into a position where they have a chance of being noticed. I would surmise that 99% of the people take that approach.

I will not follow

So I suppose that puts me in the unique position of belonging to a 1% minority of being a Contrarian and remaining relatively anonymous. You can have contrarian views in journalism, in science, and in investing, and basically you hold different ideas from the majority. If you are a betting man then you will always bet on the outsider in a two horse race. You are always rubbing against the grain... always going in a different direction to the rest of the crowd. You delight in Raba Hiff dysfunctional machinery because even though it is useless and does not preform any function... still it has presence.

And that I believe is the secret of success... you have to have presence, and if you can do that whilst remaining anonymous then you acquire that most illusive quality... a unique mystique... more precious than Steem.

Besides all that you have to make sure that the camels of your enemies forever run in circles
