Hello Ipa,
It is refreshing to read your, "unnecessarily long post" , you might even go back and edit it to include some facts you left out that I picked up from looking at your previous works posted here on Steemit.
That edit is, " I am a fast learner and open to suggestion", as proven by this post, as it was mentioned for you to do in the comments of "Wedding Day" short story.
You will do well on here, your organizational skills are obvious, and your writing is very worthy of numerous upvotes. They key will be gaining an audience and exposure. With that being said, I would suggest that you check on joining some "writers groups", The Unmentionables is a group that is worth giving a look, I joined them recently and there are some genuine good people over there.
Being that you are the youngest of 10, it would leave to believe your parents kept trying until they knew they had "gotten it right."
