Nice to meet you all here on Steemit!

Hi everyone! I'm brand new to Steemit and stumbled across the platform fairly randomly. My husband has recently been doing quite a bit of research regarding crypto currencies, came across Steemit and knowing it would be something I'd likely be interested in, suggested I sign up for an account. So, here I am :)

I'm a former corporate publicist, originally from just outside of Detroit, Michigan. Now a freelance writer and creative of many sorts, on a quest to design a life that doesn't require vacation, currently based in Costa Rica and traveling every chance I get. In addition to travel, I love to read. Have an odd obsession with nice coffee mugs and incense. I am a CrossFit athlete and also obsessed with my fur babies; Harvey, an almost 3-year-old rescue pit/lab mix and Benjamin, an approximately 1-year-old orange cat I found in a restaurant (starving and scared and oh so small!) last year and decided to bring home. You will no doubt see more photos of them in the future, I just can't help it.

Writing is how I make my living these days, however I am in the midst of yet another complete, personal re-branding. At the center of pretty much everything I do is content creation and I find this platform very intriguing not only for great content, but unique interactions too.

At the start of this year I lost my Mom and best friend to stage 4 lung cancer. On December 30, 2016 we found out she was sick, and she unfortunately passed away February 11, 2017. There have been plenty of experiences both good and bad in my life that have shaped me, but none have inspired me to action quite like this. "Now is the time," has never felt more relevant. The time for what? For me it has been many things. I recently started a YouTube channel, just one example, as an outlet to hopefully start meaningful discussions, inspire others and especially help provide some reassurance for people that they are not alone in whatever they may be going through. I'm almost as new to YouTube as I am to Steemit, so, tis' the year to try new things!

My work can be found in various publications and I'll likely share it here too as time goes on so you can take a look. My personal blog currently can be found at www.daywelllived.com although I soon plan to launch a new website that is more fitting for my new brand, and publish any blog content there. So stay tuned for updates!
