Introducemyself

Hello

I am Luke. I'm pretty new here but am excited to be a part of this community. Before I make this introduction any more cliché, I'd like to add that I am a pretty average guy. I'm a student here in Columbus at THE Ohio State University (I'm required to include that it is THE Ohio State University, not literally, but morally). Here is a picture of a block O incase anyone who may happen to read this is unfamiliar:

 

A little bit more about me

I come from a small rural community in Ohio where there wasn't really much to do. I was not limited to this area however, and I have been across the country a few times on backpacking trips to California, where I took this picture.

(This picture has no real significance or anything, I just thought it was pretty.)

I also took trips to Florida and Utah, to dive, snorkel, and hike, not all at once though. I took lots of pictures with my IPhone so if anyone that happens upon this post is interested in some more subpar IPhone photography I'd love to share (my grandma is the only person that wanted to see them and she was quite impressed if I do say so myself). 

Aside from my little outdoor adventures, I pretty much went to school, worked out some, and became an eagle scout (boy scouts was what gave me the opportunity to go out west and such, sorry if that connected wasn't exactly clear). And now here I am, at one of the largest, population wise, schools in the U.S. 

At home, I have a dog, or, more accurately, my mom has a dog that I like to call my own. I have a few other pets that I accumulated over the years; pets that subsequently refused to adhere to the normal lifespan of their respective species. 

Here at school, I live in a slightly-larger-than-my-other-friends'-rooms dorm that smells constantly like dirty socks for reasons still unknown to me. I spend most of my time putting my upcoming assignments off and playing video games. I'm a nice mix of "awkward in person" and "secretly overconfident in my abilities," and those are pretty much the basics about me.

Plans

If you read that header in a larger, life sense, I have no clue what I am going to do with my life. I don't even currently have a major or a job. On the other hand, if you read the header as a "What I am planning to do on steemit and why you should invest your time in me" kind of plans, ditto. I made this account a week or two ago and I thought it was an incredible concept and after browsing steemit for a while I think the community can be just as great. I've bounced around a few ideas for posts but for some reason I like to remain undecided.

For those that come across this post, thank you for your time. I'm excited to see how this all works for me. I spent a lot of time thinking about posting an introduction post or just posting whatever I thought was fun at the time with no rhyme or reason or maybe just not posting at all and watching what others have to say. Sometimes, however, you just have to get out there and do something, and this is my attempt at that. I appreciate any comments or criticisms that may come my way and am excited to become a part of this community.

So, here is my first post. My only real hope here is that at least one person appreciates the time it took for me to write steemit and the date backwards on my whiteboard so it would appear correctly in a picture.
