2017 was one of the best years for me but I hope that it won't be better than 2018!

Hey! Let me first introduce myself. I'm Martin. I'm 15 years old and I live in northern Slovakia.

Short story about myself and how I got to coding

Since I was a small child I was always interested in computers. One night in 2014, I watched a movie called "The Social Network". It was a movie about Mark Zuckerberg and the Facebook. This movie inspired me to learn to code. After I watched that film I searched for some tutorials on YouTube and I found a C++ tutorial. I didn't understand it but at least I had that feeling that I'm a hard-core coder. After few days, I got to Web-Development and I'm still working with it.

I wanted to tell you more about my 2017. This year was the best year for me and I hope that 2018 will be even better.

What were my biggest achievements this year?

• I learned how to take better photos, however, I still have a lot to improve. (Yes, this is my photo)

• I created my first hardware project - it was a solar charger! (It's not the most powerful one but I plan to build a better one)

• I attended one of the best conferences in Europe - Google Developer Days. I learned so much about the new technologies Google is developing and I also met an inspiring friend from Indonesia. It was the best day of my life!

• I got accepted to Udacity Scholarship.

• In May of this year, I learned something about cryptocurrencies. I also bought 0.03 BTC (It was about 70$ at that time, but I sold it). I think that crypto/blockchain is the future! You can also read about the most potential Altcoins for 2018 here!

• In December of this year, I joined Steemit and I love this community!

What do I want to achieve in the next year?

1. I will stop procrastinating.
2. I will continue developing my programming skills so that I can land my dream job in the future.
3. I will finally do that project I was always thinking about!
4. I will get to the gym regularly.
