Introductions are always difficult, aren't they? I mean, what do you say to a new crowd of people you don't really know? In my case, being marriage and sex blogger, it gets even more awkward. You never know how people are going to react.
Anyways, my name is Jay Dee, and I started a little blog about 6 years ago under the name SexWithinMarriage.com. At the time my wife and I were a couple of years into turning around what was a 7-year long sexless marriage and I needed someplace to process. A few months later, people started to read what I was writing. Then they started asking questions. So, I started writing posts in response to their questions and struggles.
Along the way, I rebranded to UncoveringIntimacy.com, did some more schooling, got a diploma in life coaching (to match my one in software engineering) with specializations in marriage and pre-marital coaching. I also started creating products and resources to help others. I started a podcast (that I really mean to revive in the new year), and generally writing posts that shock and awe my audience. Did I mention my audience is mostly Christian?
Yeah, as much as married sex isn't talked about in general, in Christian circles it's talked about even less. But, whether Christian or not, my readers tell me they love how I tackle topics. I try to balance the line between being informative and being erotic, not easy to do. I mean, how do you talk about anal sex without offending someone? I surely haven't figured it out. For every couple that sends me an email thanking me for writing about it, I get another telling me I'm going to burn in hell for writing about something so despicable.
So, I don't write for those people. I write for the couples that want to improve their marriage, the ones that have questions but are either too embarrased to ask, or don't have anyone they can ask. The ones that worry that they're weird for wanting to do something that noone talks about.
Here I hope I can continue that trend. Writing little blurbs to help people in their marriages. Yeah, some of it's going to be about sex, but there's also going to be posts about communication, conflict resolution and just plain how to live together with someone who doesn't think exactly like you do.
And I'll still be answering questions and helping individuals whenever I can.
If you have a question you'd like answered, you can email me at [email protected] and just let me know you found me on steemit, so I know where to answer the question.
If you're interested in having a sex blogger around on steemit to help you in your relationships, let me know in the comments so I can know this is worth spending time on.
That's all for now. See you around!
