Hi, this is what I've learned after my first shift on my first job on Hungry Jacks (HJ). I just wanted to say thanks first for the people who gave advice on being on yourself and without that advice, I wouldn't get my next shift which will be tomorrow and it boosted my performace.
- Be Yourself
- If you have your first shift, don't show off. Just be yourself. You want to show the manager who you are and who they are hiring. If they like you, then good, if not, ask the manager what you could change to be a better employee. You wouldn't want to act like you're a hardworking man/woman on the first day if you aren't because it'll end the way that you wouldn't want telling your manager that you couldn't work like this anymore. ( You know what I mean)
- Always ask your manager what to do
- If you want to show the manager that you are worth the job and you wanted more shifts, then you should always as the manager what to do. It doesn't only show that manager that you show initiative but to let them feel same because asking them what to do will show them that you are only doing what is told and not doing anything wrong.
- It's okay to be wrong
- It is okay if something went wrong. Learning from your fault is the best lesson you can have. Earlier, the manager told me to stock up, so what I did wrong is that I put the onion rings on the angry onion tray. It is okay, the manager told me that it is okay, that it's fine because I'm new and he knows that I will learn from this so don't be afraid if something went wrong, always ask the manager if what you are doing is right.

It should've been 3 hours but there was a real pretty redhead Aussie gal who worked there - so I just took anti-diarrhoea tablets so I could continue on seeing here. On day #3 the floodgates opened ... and then I left :(
