Let me introduce myself. Take 2. The man with too many plans and a lack of action

Good morning everyone and happy New Year. I hope that 2018 is exciting and prosperous for everyone.

My name is Chris. I am an Executive for a Community College in KS and I spend my days in front of a computer screen. I am responsible for reporting the colleges data to state and federal agencies. It not the most exciting job in the world, but I love the people I work with.

Today is my first day back to work since December 21st. It was a nice break and I spent a great deal of it reading on Steemit and trying to get a handle of how it all works. I am a Reddit user and have been for years. As I have stated in the past, it is not what it used to be and I want to be involved in a community that has a focus. I feel there is a lot to offer with Steemit and I want to make a go at it.

So a bit more about myself. I am doctoral candidate and am finishing my research for my dissertation and should be done in the next couple months. My dissertation is on Conflict Management between teachers in a high school setting. My Doctoral degree is in Educational Leadership. I hope I can have some amazing discussion with steemit users in the future about some of these topics.

I am also a cryptocurrency follower. I say follower because I focused for too long on other things and have missed the train for so many great coins and tokens. I started to mine Bitcoin back in 2011 or so, but I cannot find the wallet file. I don’t think I had much, but with current prices a little can still be a lot.

I have recently started using bitconnect and see some promise with it. I have another article in my blog about it if you are interested. Would love it if you joined and we could start a team. I know there are those that call it a Ponzi scheme, but they have said that about everything crypto at some point. This guys are making a ton of money and what they pay out is crumbs compared to what they are making. I am okay with that.

So 2018 is kind of a rebuilding year for me. The last year has been rough. I lost my dad fairly suddenly and work has been brutal.

Here are the things I plan to accomplish this year:

• Lose weight. I hate New Year’s resolutions but it is what it is. I am using Keto for diet and DDP Yoga for exercise.
• Finish Doctorate. This will be done by May hopefully much sooner.
• Build a Crypto portfolio. I have some coins that I have bought and Mined. I am looking at some ICO offerings as well.
• Take my Merch by Amazon sales to a new level. This Christmas season was not great due to the throttling and other issues. I really hope that next year is better. It’s a residual income that I can use for investing in coins. (What would you suggest)
• Plan a real vacation. I have not had a real vacation in over ten years. We may take a cruise, but it depends on timing.
• Get to know Steemit better and start to contribute in areas of interest on a regular basis.

I know I am missing some things, but I thought that getting these out there might help to keep me motivated.

Well I hope you have a great day. I hope that I can make some friends and learn from everyone.

You got me at Keto. I started a few weeks back, right after Thanksgiving if I remember right, and got derailed before Christmas. So, need to get it up and running again. I discovered a couple of days ago that @Ketoforlife has been posting some recipes if you're interested. Good luck with it, your doctorate and other endeavors this year.

I did keto for 9 months and lost 45 pound without exercise and felt great. That was 6 years ago. Now i sit all day and need to get back to it. I find that being on keto keeps me in a good mood and i have better focus. I need to keep it a a life style and not a diet. I am 43 and starting to really feel it. I will check out @Ketoforlife thanks.

Welcome to Steemit! In addition to Steem, I would recommend EOS, Ripple, Ethereum, Monero and maybe Verge as coins to read more about. Please don't take this as investment advice, though.

Best wishes for meeting all of your goals for 2018!

I have been looking into a couple of those. Wish I had bought ripple a few years ago.

Hey Chris, first of all, welcome to steemit! I find your goals to be really interesting and wish you good luck, I am sure you can reach them.
Can I ask you what kind of merch you are selling on Amazon?

Thanks I hope you have a great year.

I am selling t-shirt. Merch by Amazon is a program where you design shirts and sell them through amazon. they handle all to the production and handling. It is a great program, but they kinda screwed the users this Christmas season. I made good money, but it could have been a lot more.
