they call me The Membrane... now I am no science geek nor am I an aspiring Research Specialist; not sure my college professors will want to hear me say that seeing that I finished from the University of Portharcourt, Department of Microbiology.

FYI - I went to college

So about my nick name... I was given that name by friends who couldn't bear to pronounce my esteemed and obviously difficult surname UMEBIRIM pronounced oooh-may-be-rim, so they stuck to MEMBRANE, and I kinda loved it and stayed with it.

My life started in the city of Lagos where my parents decided to have a child five years after my older sister was born. they came to a conclusion.... me!

dad and mom were both and still are choristers in the local church so I got introduced to music very early in life. Momma said I sang when I was born unlike others babies who simply cry.
dad still plays the guitar and is an ardent reggae faithful.

I joined the elementary school choir and was one of the lead singers for several years until of course I had to progress to high school.

did I mention that my elder sister was also a music person, she was more into hiphop, r&b and dancehall music and before I went to high school she had changed my perception or turned my love for music in the direction of rap, pop and reggae/raga.

not long after, I started coming up with melodies of my own. gained recognition in the neighbourhood for my versatility.

in high school I ruled the stage and was considered the brightest music act.
