Well hello everyone.
My name is Greg Hedgepath and Google's ever zealous censorship brought me to the steemit platform.
This is my brief "introduceyourself " post hopefully giving you some insight into my twisted mind. I hope it finds you well.
Let me preface for others that I was not aware that this introductory post was necessary until I watched a very in depth video posted by @georgedonnelly and garnered a great deal of useful information from him. That post can be found here https://steemit.com/steemit/@georgedonnelly/everything-you-need-to-get-started-fast-with-steemit-social-media-that-pays-complete-tutorial-with-screencast and if you are new to steemit this is an invaluable tool, a must watch. It was because of this video I learned I need to make this introduction post. This is it.
I have been online since before Netscape fit on a floppy disc. Actually before that I was selling letterhead and envelopes on compuserve and prodigy BBSs, "that should date me".
I started a small coldfusion hosting company in 1988, cfhosting.net. We worked out of Key West Florida for about 2 years and had to move operations to Atlanta GA. I am still here. The company went from a million dollar enterprise to a bit bucket over the years. I have very few servers and those all run proxmox virtualization software. Between a thief for a business partner and Godaddy's decision to support the ColdFusion API, we almost closed the doors. After they learned hosting Coldfusion is not easy they abandoned the API and pushed most those clients into php or .NET. (yuk!)
Since then I have been messing around with crypto mining and have built a few rigs for mining ethereum and Burstcoin. That is where I found Steemit. The crypto world has been topsy turvy for me. I can look back at a time when I owned over 200 bitcoin and used them to by power-ups in online games. Wow what a waste that turned out to be.
Anyway I am close to retirement age now and pretty much work from home mining crypto and trading on bittrex and poloniex exchanges. Our savings and rental property got wiped out in 2009 so I am rebuilding from $0.00 for our retirement. At last we avoided bankruptcy. I am three times married and happily still enjoying my third and last encounter. My wife is a dog whisperer and I have a 30 yr old son who is a vet tech and a 31 yr old daughter that has her own family now. My son is still single and available, in case anyone is interested.
I have lived in the south all my life, born and raised in Columbia South Carolina, after college I moved to Hilton Head Island for 16 years and then to Key West Florida and now Stone Mountain Georgia but I would not mind living in the desert or the Blue Ridge mountains, fingers crossed. Atlanta has been great but I am ready for fresh new scenery. I've done the big city the beaches and tourist traps and now it's time for the mountains sine that is more agreeable with my wife than the desert.
I have 5 dogs and 9 cats. most are rescues we could not place for one reason or another. I do in home pet sitting with my wife and I do all the feeding when the guest are here. We had no less than 23 dogs this Christmas over a period of three weeks.
WOW! I did manage to get them all feed at the same time and never have had a fight over food in 18 years of sharing those duties with my wife's pet-sitting business. I guess I am a bit of a dog whisperer too.
Well I think I am going to close out my intro here before I bore everyone to death and leave it with an invitation for my services.
If anyone is looking for hosting I can still offer those services even if you need a TOR based darkweb site I can help.
I only host linux so if you are looking for windows I am sorry, I don't care for that version of digital hell.
No porn, drug or software distro sites. I am small enough that I can check my servers hosted content.
With that I wish everyone a great safe time on Steemit.
Greg Hedgepath

I'm just waiting for everyone to ditch googles and facebooks and move here.
We need to challenge their monopoly.

I agree. I got an email from youtube yesterday, "Have you nioticed you are getting less money on your videos" Click here to find out why? I had three new pages of videos demonetized. Many of them were just dogs playing in my back yard. Unforgivable. I will never post another video to youtube and my twitter account is taking a backseat to minds.com
