Hello Steemians!!

IMG_0423.JPG

I’m Elizabeth, some people call me “Liz Blake” one person calls me “Lizzers." I’m on Steemit to connect, to share about holistic living, to inspire and be inspired, to learn about crypto currencies and embrace the ways of a sustainable future!!

I was born in New York City and lived there a long time. Earlier this year I lived in Brooklyn and now I’m traveling exploring life beyond the big city while I plant the seeds for my budding business!! I’m still in the midst of this massive leap of faith I took earlier this year, leaving my NYC job to create a life I LOVE.

My background in is Holistic Health, I studied at NYU where I designed my own major exploring the Mind/Body Connection, Food + Nutrition, Jungian Psychology, Shamanism, and Photography.

I also traveled the world working as a chef, studying with shamans, training in yoga, learning from the earth. At some point, I decided to learn more about technology and business, so I landed a job at a tech startup in NYC. When I wasn’t at that desk, I was deeping my work with medicinal plants and ceremonial Cacao, developing my Liquid Love Cacao drink! (That brown thing in my hands is a Cacao pod, it grows on trees)

Did I mention that I LOVE plants?! Here’s me in my urban garden in Brooklyn and upstate harvesting pine pollen last spring.

After a few years, the tech job started to suck my soul and so then I left to create something I love, something that feels like a calling, something that is fully aligned with my heart and soul…. so now here I am, making my dreams come true!

I’m launching my website soon, it’ll be full of good food, plant medicine, holistic living, sustainability, and embracing the sacred in the mundane. I’ll be doing more and more Cacao ceremonies and events, serving Liquid Love Cacao!

Another exciting thing to note… I’m helping to build a healing center at the Source Farm, my family’s eco-village in Jamaica. The eco-village is built of eco-domes, there's a nature school, a permaculture education program and they’ve also started Jamaica’s first organic farmer’s market, Ujima Natural Farmers Market in Kingston.

Thanks! Happy to be here :)

Hey @lizblake, welcome to the community! I am very intrigued to see that content that you will be creating for the community. I, too, want to help people achieve happiness and health in their lives, whatever that personal definition may be.

I love to watch this community diversify with people of such unique perspectives and combinations of backgrounds/ experience and form this teaching network. How exciting to be a builder of a network that values ideas and insight and helps the blockchain reach people who will continue to find more applications for it.

I am a choco-holic. I used to be (quite literally) addicted to the sugar laden stuff, but I have since wised up and cut it out of my diet. Cacao nibs have become my favorite little pick me up after a workout or sometimes on a night snack. I look forward to hearing more about the liquid love!

Thank you! I'm super inspired to share content here, feels so good and exciting!

Great that you kicked the sugery chocolate habit! The quality of chocolate of the market varies greatly, some is full of mold and sourced from corrupt industry, other is sustainable and quality healthy food with lots of benefits! Cacao nibs are wonderful. Do you eat them straight? Or any recipes you use with them? I actually love the straight bitter cacao :) Though when I make my Liquid Love Cacao for others I add some homemade coconut milk and maple syrup. Yum yum!

I will at times "infuse" them with extras by melting in a double bubbler and put that over a fruit or I've used it on bacon for low-carb meat-lovers in my life. But yes, especially after a workout, my body wants some energy and my brain still knows that cacao typically comes with a little sugar, so when its just the nibs, it still satisfies a sweet reward to go with all of the endorphins from exercise.

You melt the nibs? I've never done that!!! And super interesting about pairing it with the exercise and the sweet reward.

Welcome! Thanks for sharing these lovely pics!

Yea! Glad you like them, it was fun putting this post together, much more satisfying than instagram :)

Welcome, Hope you enjoy the platform, great intro, I will follow

Thanks, yea I'm excited about this! So far #Steemit feels refreshing, was getting bored of other social platforms.

Wonderful, yes! I'm pretty excited about it :)

Welcome to steemit and good luck starting your website. That cacao looks amazing!

Thank you!!

Interesting...

You seem to be apretty awesome and inspiring person. I also love plants, like a lot, I have a habit of collecting them somewhat 'unnessiarily' but like what kind of plant is unnessisary? Haha, excited to hear more about your adventures!

Omg totally agree, no plant is unnecessary! House plants help keep the air clean, have so many health benefits, are beautiful, make any space feel better, more vibrant. Even growing herbs in a home kitchen brings so much life, especially during the winter :)

Yeah I can't not have plants in my house haha.Plants and chickens, chickens and plants. Thats what life is all about!

I hope one day I get to try your cacao love stuff! Visit the Okanagan sometime haha.

Ahh you raise chickens too @skycae ?! Cool! One day maybe I will too. And yes I hope you get to try my Cacao one day too, I hope to take it all over the world. Where is the Okanagan?

It is in british columbia Canada, a very beautiful place to visit in the summer, big lake and very warm, just not right now in the winter haha.

Yes I love my fluffy butted chickens, they are the best, such a joy and such amusement and such yummy eggs. They really are hardly any work at all.

Hey, these photos are majestic. Thumbs up for the cacao pod. My page has nothing related to yours but I love food and you seem to have an interesting story so you got one of my first follows

Thanks! And thanks for the follow! I checked out your page, you're right, our content is very different, but I actually have a thing for sexy cars :) Followed you back!

Very nice post! Nice to meet you, Elizabeth 😊.

Thanks! Nice meeting you too, happy to be here 💛
