Hi Everybody!

Greetings everyone! This idea of adding tangible value to communication is ingenious. Unlike with YouTube and other social media platforms there is a reward for talking sensibly and productively to complete strangers!

How did I come to Steemit? I guess it has been a long path starting with an initial interest in breaking the shackles of the old tyme religion of my youth (Irvinism), and accepting a scholarship to an institution of higher learning, where my mind was opened to other forms of thinking beyond strict Protestantism. I soon became an atheist, a libertarian, and an anarchist (of the Tuckerian variety).

I have always been fascinated by the inner workings of monetary and value systems. After completing my education at University of Minnesota, and several failed attempts to make the Canadian Olympic team in the decathlon, I took a job as a University track and field coach in the United States. During that time I had plenty of opportunity to investigate monetary systems. Around this time I began slowly buying silver. From there I got into Lending Club, and found out about Bitcoin

At that time Bitcoin was only worth around $0.80. Unfortunately I did not get in. The next time I looked, Bitcoin was worth around $1000. Shortly thereafter it pulled back, and I bought my first Bitcoin at around $400 on Coinbase. Hoping to catch the next big thing, I promptly exchanged it for XRP at $ 0.02. I also began using my computer to obtain XRP via Computing for Good.

XRP crashed, silver crashed and the only profits I made over the next few years were in Lending Club. That is until this April of this year... and that was when I was reawakening to the awesome potential of these blockchain technologies.

Here I am.

My other interests include learning the violin and guitar, training for and competing in strongman, and health and fitness in general.
