I have been on steemit - and a few other frontends - for about two weeks now. After having fished the confirmation e-mail out of my spam-folder. I made a small introductory post in the past, but since I didn't use the official tag for introductions, I am back again with a new one.

Who is Luna Nightshade?

Well, I am one of probably at least a few hundred, that have started to use the name Luna Nightshade - mostly because simply Luna is gone already. (Ever thought of a good and simple name? All gone. There needs to be something attatched to the name. Or you need to be one of the very first ... but it is often in Life, that you are too late, that someone else had the very big idea already ...)

So, this Luna Nightshade here, came to the name by ... connecting to Luna from ... My Little Pony. Yes, I am one of the ones that have come to like the show. Not because of the life lessons, or because of some other unsavory thoughts one might have of such fans, but just because it was cute and different from all the other shows I have seen. It surprised me. More than once. And I like cartoons of all sorts. In my opinion, soaps belong in the bathroom, and not on a screen.

Life is boring enough, Life may even be unfair - no scratch that. Life is unfair - and then I have to endure the typical things life offers all around me also on a screen? Maybe even badly written? No thank you.

The Writer

I do write at times. When life permits it. Just now I am procrastinating from things I should do (but I don't want to do right now - I am sure many of you know that feeling). To be honest, most of my stories came from procrastination (rather do that than learn something about educational science theories), but I sometimes really have trouble concentrating on writing at all (I am too often not content with what I bring to the screen).

The Artist

Doesn't look to shabby, now, does it? Well, sometimes I make a few simple drawings, like my avatar picture here (the Moon, Luna, is there, and a night flower - not a real nightshade like a tomato ... I like how it sounds more than what it is). But my skill in drawing is not really that great. I can't produce a picture that I am content with 90% of the time, and I am also too lazy to practice. A selfmade problem, I know ...

The Teacher

It is, actually, something I studied. And teaching people, who want to be taught is something I really like - the problem is, that 90% of the people in school are there because they have to, and not because they want to. And those that want to learn are an even smaller fraction. My subjects of choice were Mathematics and Chemistry. Two things that make the world go round. Besides that, I learned a bit of english (native german here), got a bit of experience in writing (everyone judge for yourself whether it is good or not), and taught myself about text-layout.

Opensource Software

I am loving a few Opensource Software programs (and am really angry at microsoft for making it harder, that is more involved, to use software of my own choosing. At one point I have to switch to a linux based system - but I will miss the Media Player Classic). If I have something I want to look into, or do, then I try to find an OSS-Solution ... Too bad that it sometimes would make it hard to collaborate with others, who stick to certain software ...

My Goals

Well, I am not quite sure. I have now written a post daily - but I think I should, and will, switch to a slower schedule. I think I might continue a how to series for some OpenSource Software programs that I have been using for quite some time. Or shed some light on projects I had in the past (I did dabble into HTML, PHP, MySQL and JavaScript).

Yes, and no. I was in love, but my love has left this world. My heart is still occupied, and I don't think the love I once had, the one I once experienced, will ever fully leave.

This year I will be, for the sixth time become six, next year I have to start at one again. (Yes, some people just never grow up.)
