Steemit's next greatest (not so) amateur photographer right here!

Hey steemit!

I'm Lydia, 25, and I will be blogging to you from Newmarket, NH, US.  After discussing steemit with a coworker tonight, I decided that I'd come home and get started with my "introduce yourself post".

I know that transparency and authenticity are important here, so I've added this photo as proof that I am a real live human.  And yes, I did just claim to be steemit's next greatest amateur photographer with a backwards photobooth selfie, it's my style. Paper reads: "steemit.com, 8/13/16, N.H. United states".

I currently waitress at the Holy Grail in Epping, NH and I've been there for over 3 years.  It's an old church that was converted into an Irish pub 8 years ago.  We have a 26 seat bar, patio seating, two floors, and live music, so, naturally, every shift I work is a little bit different and the money is SPECtacular.  This is why I've neglected to use my $120,000 B.S. animal behavior degree that I earned back in 2013, much to my family's confusion and disappointment.  I can't wait to demonstrate to them what the internet (and still not using my degree) can do for my income without even driving to work! :D

To get down to it, my passion has always been photography, and in particular, capturing animals and nature.  However, I was steered clear of art school back in 2009 by my monetary college supporters, and encouraged to go into something more scientific.  FINE.  Animal behavior it was.

So look at me now, the Holy Grail's "#1 most indebted to student loans" employee.  Oh well.  You live and you learn (not to go to college).  Kidding, go to college all you youngins, but don't let anyone choose your major.

I now have 2 goals, and based on what I've seen so far I believe that steemit could help put them in reach.  I can hear my Dad's drumroll...

1.) To make a name for myself in the photography world without adding to my student loan debt and to substantially increase my income with my photos.

2.) To write a book detailing my experiences with customers at work.  Possible titles include "How to Eat Out",  "Everything Your Server Would Like to Say to You But Can't", or "Man in Seat 1 at Table 32, the Entire Staff is Talking About You".  My coworkers and I tell our nightly horror stories about annoying self absorbed customers every night over a few beers anyway, might as well type them out and entertain all of you!

Stay tuned for some photos!

Thank you!

Welcome and salutations! If you're looking to make something out of yourself w/out adding to your student debt, you've come to the right place. :)

With regard to your book, I 'umbly suggest that you try out some of your stories on your friends and us - and build the book around the ones that get the most laughs.

Thank you! I'm sure that you will all be entertained by my stories, I'll try some out on you tonight. Good suggestion!

Glad to! My oldest friend is a waiter; I dare say he's one of the best. :)
