Hello Steemit World and all Steemians around!

Please allow me to introduce myself;

My name is Maruis, I am a twenty something South African that have recently entered into the cryptosphere, where I have been looking for a simple platform to share the journey that is life in the 21st century.

Enter Steemit:

My good friend https://steemit.com/@erikvz247 got me to sign up to Steemit and I will hopefully be able to contribute to this community as we go about our daily grind on this crazy rock we call planet Earth.

And even though it was the cryptocurrency community that got my to this platform I will hopefully be creating interesting content in relation to the normal day to day interests that many of us share (no-coiners included).

I am a civil engineer by vocation and have recently started on a fitness journey to be able to live my best life (or whatever the kids say these days) , for this reason I will be posting about these topics and other normal life topics that pop up as we progress.

Hey Maruis, welcome to Steemit! You should check out my post How To Succeed On Steemit? to get you started. I blog about crypto aaand potentially fitness in the future too, depending on what people want.

What kind of fitness journey are you going on? Do you intend to weight-train or are you more of a runner or?

Hi Nathan,

Thanks for welcoming me and the the post advice post you made, very insightful. Regarding the fitness blog I would really like to just share my personal experience over the last 12 months where I have lost around 20kg's , 44lbs for the imperialists =), I am venturing into the finer details around building muscle and stamina training and will hopefully be able to share what I learn!

I have some of my transformation pics up on instagram @maruis15 but I have found that its a bit tedious to write out proper posts on there. Yet again where I hope steemit will be a better platform to use as a personal blog!

Ohhh damn, 20kg that's loads, congratulations!! I did a student physique show last year for the first time but I did it the other way round... I used to be really skinny haha. But yeah, no worries man, glad I could help.
