Hey everyone!

I'm Mateo Lopez from Colombia. The story of how I found out about Steemit and became a part of this social network is quite funny, and I realize that there was a lot of coincidences. But before telling my story, I want to say that I'm excited about being part of this revolution! Plus I truly believe that it has a lot of potential and I have a ton of faith in its growing potential, which will last a very long time.

I hope to expand Steemit not just in Colombia, but in ALL of the Latin American countries as well as other Spanish-speaking countries by providing content in both English and Spanish. I have an extensive background in real estate development, property management, and social media, which is why I'm excited about imparting my knowledge on all of these things here on Steemit. I'm also looking forward to sharing more about my beautiful country of Colombia with you!

Right now I bounce back and forth between the two Colombian cities of Medellín and Armenia, the latter of where I met Angelo @theywillkillyou and Rene @world5list (both of whom encouraged me to get my start on Steemit). I met them while working as a real estate agent in a local Armenia-based firm when one day, Rene and his girlfriend came to check out a house on sale with a really bad interpreter. So I, looking to help them out, started chatting them up in order to make their purchasing process smoother. They said they were only taking a look at it and would come back again a few weeks later with their friend/business partner, Angelo.

They returned shortly afterwards and unfortunately, decided against buying the house. But the positive part about this experience was that I had the chance to meet two great people. They helped me get started on this awesome site by introducing me to the Steemit community, for which I'm really eager and excited about!

Mi nombre es Mateo Lopez y soy de Colombia. La historia de cómo me di cuenta de Steemit y llegue a hacer parte de esta red social es un poco graciosa y pienso que hubo muchas coincidencias. Pero antes de contarles mi historia, quiero empezar diciendo que ¡estoy muy emocionado de hacer parte de esta revolución! Además, yo fuertemente creo que tiene un gran potencial y tengo mucha en que puede crecer muchísimo, que durará mucho tiempo.

Yo espero expandir Steemit no solo en Colombia, si no en TODOS países Latinoamericanos, además de otros países en donde se hable español creando contenido tanto en inglés como en español. Tengo gran experiencia en el desarrollo de propiedad raíz, administración de propiedades y redes sociales, por lo cual estoy emocionado de poder compartir todo mi conocimiento aquí en Steemit. Además de eso, quisiera compartir con ustedes un poco más sobre mi hermoso país ¡Colombia!

Actualmente vivo entre Medellín y Armenia que son dos ciudades en Colombia, donde tuve la oportunidad de conocer a Angelo @theywillkillyou y a Rene @world5list (los cuales me impulsaron a empezar en Steemit). Los conocí trabajando en una firma local de bienes raíces, cuando un día Rene y su novia vinieron a ver una casa en venta con un traductor muy malo. Entonces, quise ayudarlos y comencé a hablar con ellos para poder hacer su proceso de compra mucho mejor. Ellos me dijeron que nada más estaban dando un primer vistazo a la casa y que regresarían en algunas semanas con su amigo/socio, Angelo.

Ellos regresaron un poco después y desafortunadamente, decidieron no comprar la casa. Pero, el lado positivo de esta experiencia fue que tuve la oportunidad de conocer dos grandes personas. Actualmente, me ayudaron a empezar en este grandioso sitio presentándome esta comunidad de Steemit, por lo cual estoy muy contento y emocionado.
