Hello Steemit, an introduction from your friendly neighbourhood stencil artist!

Intro

Hello everyone. I’ve been hovering around the Steemit space for a while now waiting for the right time to strike - which looks to be right now!

My aim while I’m here is to help the community by posting stencil art tutorial videos (similar to the style of Banksy). I’m also aiming to get involved in crypto discussions and generally be part of what seems to be a very positive community.

Here's me - sporting a spray can (naturally).

Art

Born in 1982, England I started out in the late 1990's as a keen landscape oil painter. During the years that followed, I decided a new challenge was in order. Inspired by early works in the evolving street art scene, I began creating stencil art.

My early works were primarily one stencil layer and high contrast, as seen in the Cupid pieces. With a desire for a more lifelike result, I developed my style over time into multiple layer stencils allowing for more tone and detail.

I use graffiti grade spray paint and stretched canvasses for all of my pieces. The quality of my work really is the result of the intricate preparation of my hand cut acetate stencils.

In September 2012, I worked with Ben Moore of Art Wars to produce canvasses for The Peace Project gallery exhibition in London. This lead to other commissions for exhibitions in London over the years with some huge world renowned Street Artists. A massive highlight of my artwork was when I exhibited with Damien Hirst, David Bailey, Mr Brainwash, D*Face, Inkie and more at the ArtWars exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery, London in November 2013.

My aim nowadays with art is to help people make their own stencil art through tutorials and free advice.

Other than art, I'm very much interested in crypto currencies, having had my hand in Bitcoin for a number of years as well as ETH since the start of this year. Loving the way crypto is going and very much looking forward to contributing to discussions about it here!
