Hi! I was homeless with my family for months. Luckily, we had some great friends and we had food stamps. We lived in my Suburban for much of the time because camping season was not open yet.
Pride can also mess you up during these times. Go to your state human services and get foodstamps and medicare. Also check out food banks and other charities. Dont be too proud, it can kill you. Check out camping locally. Most campgrounds are cheap and have electricity and showers as well as drinking water.
You also may have to reconsider where you live. Although I was homeless, both me and my wife had full time jobs. It just wasnt sustainable because of the high cost of living in Colorado. I live in South Carolina now and the conditions here are a lot better for thriving.
